Start of full time
Well it's here the house to close Friday 27th move into the Airstream tomorrow.
Hope all goes well. A bit scary but we have been planning for near two years and
think we have pretty well prepared for most anything but time will tell. The wife still has two months work left but will be using some vacation time during that time. Then off to Yellowstone, southern Ca. Grand Canyon, Carlsbad caverns, then to Florida for the winter. Wish us luck we will need it. Good camping all.

Wishing you well and safe travels
We're following a similar path and wish you well. We've got the TV, a 2016 Ford F350 Superduty. The house goes on the market next week and we're off to look at Flying Clouds while the realtor shows the house. Hoping for a quick sale and then ... won't run out of things to decide and do for a few months. Hoping to find ourselves in Oaxaca, Oaxaca for a few months come winter.

Just a suggestion from an ex-full timer. Slow down - 300 to 350 miles a day is plenty, at the end of the day sit under the "Live Oak Tree" and have a bourbon and branch water (we always celebrated setting up camp with a new to us beer), visit the local museums, stay at "Mom & Pops" RV campgrounds (chain campgrounds get to look all alike after a while) and the worst thing you can do is set a schedule to be somewhere - stay an extra day or a week - who cares we'll be there sometime in July works. And finally travel the State roads, Interstates are for keeping a schedule, see former point and finally Have Fun!

Update
Well the house closing went smooth. Been at a local camp 8 days wife has 60 days to retirement and all going better that expected. The temps have been the only issue at 92 +. We will have to move between campgrounds a few times due to limits but that's the life style. The camp empties out Sun through Thursday. One thing we did not like was some guy with a drone that liked hovering it over our site. Lucky he was only here 1 night. Good camping all Rand

4 wk update
It's been great so far. If not for having to be here for wife's last few days of work we would be at a higher elevation it's HOT 95 to 100 deg. Other than that we are really having fun. 41 more days here then off to Yellowstone we head, start Aug 5 and should be there Sept 1 for two maybe 3 wks. Then make our way southern Ca. to see nephew and his wife and two girls. stopping by Grand Canyon and Carlsbad caverns on our way to our new state of Florida for the winter. It feels so good to be rid of the house and all the stuff that tied us to it. Always something needing repair, mowing, paint. It is costing less than we planned so far but I know this first long trip will cost much more we knew that going in and it will slow down next year. We paid for all the camp sites early this year through Mar 14 2017 and that is about 1/3 of the cost that leaves food fuel and repairs. Thanks for all the replies. Safe travels to all. Rand

First post...hoping to AS fulltime soon
Okay. So I'm a little nuts but I've been really looking hard for a used AS to go fulltime while in grad school and for travel and househunting afterwards. Going to school in north Florida but then hoping to relocate out of state (possibly PNW) afterwards. I'll be fulltiming solo during school but would love to have a place where my hubby and our dogs can visit occasionally. We own a house in Florida but relocating both of us for my school isn't a great option. I like the travel trailer concept because I'd rather spend money on a second residence we actually own and can use later than pay rent to someone else. I'm currently a travel nurse and I'm over renting at crazy high prices because I'm a short term renter. Being called high risk when I'm actually a pretty sure bet is getting old and renting a room in a house has certain distinct disadvantages. Looked at lots of brands of travel trailer and though others are better priced, the research consistently shows AS to be better quality, better lasting and better resale. Not to mention they are just sooo cool and iconic. But I'm truly going from 0 to 60 going from no RV to fulltiming! Nuts or do able?
Thanks in advance!
