Onan generator breaker issues

I have a 1997 Land Yacht with an Onan 5000 generator. A few weeks ago, the generator was running, then shut down and would not restart. I changed the oil, oil filter and air filter. I have plugsand was going to change those next, but decided to try and start after this first phase. When I did, the generator started to crank, but then stopped Andalusia clicking noise comes from the breaker box. I turn the breaker switches off, then on, and the same issue occurs, which tells me that the switches are tripping when I try to start it. No appliances are on in the RV. What could be causing the breakers to trip?

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? All fuses are in good shape also.

More detail on which generator you have please. Model number and serial number would help.

Once, mine would not start. I found the problem to be that the fuel level was too low in the coach gas tank. It has to be somewhere about, or above, a quarter of a tank.

Thanks. Yes, ours will go out if the fuel tank is below half. Fuel level is full. Interestingly, it will now start, but only if I start the RV engine first, and if I then turn the engine off, the generator,will shut down. This sounding like a battery issue maybe?

Need the complete model number and serial number off the metal plate. I'm trying to run down the service model for your genset but they made several model Marquis 5000's over the years.
