Far back window latch on 310
Does anyone have a good picture of how the flat window latch works on the farthest back window in the bedroom on a 1984 310? Mine is screwed shut, I unscrewed it and I think there must be a piece missing, something cylindrical to lock into the red latch Bar? also, is there normally a screen on that window? how does that work?
Thank you,
Curt

The latch is the same as your bathroom window latch; two on each corner of the window; flip inside hands towards you to release tension on the lock, then rotate until flat bar is out of the groove in the window frame.
As far as the screen goes; yes I have a screen with five or so inches of the screen retainer moulding hanging down. In case of fire, pull screen retainer moulding out and screen will fall out to allow you to go out the window.
Too cold to go outside and take pictures.
Cheers

Tony,
Interesting, I think I am missing a bunch of hardware, I was thinking it would be great if this window worked like the bathroom, but the extend of my hardware is a red bar that connects to nothing, and two rusty screws.
Add it to the list.
Thank you,
Curt

Are you talking about the emergency exit the red bar is at the bottom of the glass.

Our ‘84 just has the red bar. I wouldn’t want to have to mess with extra latches if I had to get out.

That must be the system I have, no latches, but the red bar does not engage with anything on the window, without the screws holding it shut from the outside it just flops around like a mackerel.

Far back window latch on 310
On ours the red bar latches onto something in the window frame. Pull it (in, I think) hard, and the window is open. Can’t go look now, the coach is far away. Good thing you are looking at it, screwed shut from the outside sounds like a bad idea. On our last trip my wife and I had a safety drill to make sure that we both were able to open that window.
