Lynn, if you were closer I'd have you bring your pile of keys over to see if one would fit!

Thanks!

Yeah, Arkansas is a bit far. Not to mention that we have NO sites that are free of really deep snow at this point.

My locks (the rectangular type) all had numbers stamped on them. Took the numbers to a locksmith and he cut keys. Voila!

Our Argosy trailer came with a bunch of keys too.
IMHO I do not like many keys for many locks. I like
the one key approach. If you are going through all
this anyway, you may want to look ahead and get
a group of locks all keyed the same. Clean the inside
so that it is free of corrosion where the lock strikes
and slides. Bent metal also can cause problems. If it
is "stiff" to shut and lock...it will probably be worse
after a while when you try to unlock and open. This job
can be slow and unpleasant. Take your time.

Nine months? Has it been that long?!

What I found on my locks was the shafts were rusted solid so no matter what keys I tried there was no way they were going to turn. I've located a source for replacement lock assemblies. They are kinda pricey and since this is a long term project I've not purchased any as yet.

As far as getting the compartments open, I ended up using a large screw driver that I hammered into the lock assemblies to get them eventually turn. The only real treasure (surprise actually) was the large wasp nest that I found .

I'm willing to send it to Gene if he would like to have his fair share.......
