I recently purchased a 67 safari. Whats the secrete password to get invited to some events.

We have a small group headed to Salem Indiana this weekend for the stock car races at Salem Speedway. One of our Airstreamers will be racing in the late model stocks on Saturday.

The 150th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg will be celebrated in 2013 during the week of the 4th of July. We attended the outstanding reenactments 5 years ago (the 145th) and have been told that the 150th will be many times bigger.
I called a nearby private campground and found that they were selling sites with a 6-night commitment for over $800! However, the Pennsylvania State Park system has just begun accepting reservations at near-by Caledonia State Park. We booked 5 nights for $145 in site #171, (Hosack Run loop – pets permitted) arriving Wednesday , July 3rd and staying 5 nights. I am sure that reservations will go quickly for this popular event, but keep in mind that cancellations can be made up to the close of business seven days prior to the arrival date with just a $10 cancellation fee.

I guess things have slowed a bit for the Ohioans. I know we're on somewhat of a hiatus. We're "saving ourselves" for our two week trip through the south and to Disney World later this year. We will be taking the Argosy moho to the opening Browns game. Who knew...Argosy colors are also Browns colors, especially on a moho where there's the addition of a dark brown stripe. We're also doing a weekend in Oct at Cardinal Center Campground in Marengo, OH. It's become somewhat of an annual tradition for all of us at work that camp to go there for the campground's trick-or-treat weekend.

We have two weekend camping trips planned in Sept. and Oct. Both at Lake Loramie State Park near us. It's close to home so we can check on the dogs. Then, like Jason, we are going to WDW in Oct/Nov. Taking a couple of side trips on the way down and back. We are "here".

Sep 14, 15,16 Mohican state park will be our destination for the first trip in our 67 safari. Wifes first time camping in 25 years. Wish me luck.

Cool. That's only 30 min from our house. We might join you for one or two nights depending on our schedule and if we can get a spot.

If you have fun doing that, maybe you will consider joining in on one of our informal rallies.
We have one on the calendar for Oct. 4-7 at Penn Wood Airstream Park, Limestone, PA The Clarion Fall Colors Festival is going on. There are 4-5 of us going over together.
Airbiscuit is hosting another on Oct. 26-29 at Findley State Park for the Anniversary/Chili cook-off rally. So far we have 15 or 16 campers coming in for all of the fun.

So far in Sept. 6-9 we are thinking of going to Findley SP if we can. We had some Canadians call and ask if we had courtesy parking for that week and they said they would get back to us closer to the time, but so far no contact. So we are playing that by ear.

Camp on! Summer is going by fast!!

We are planning to go to Findley SP sometime in September during the week to see how it is during the week. We drove through the other day to check out the sites and have a list of ones we are interested in, one is close to the three you mentioned -- 245. Actually, there were more that seemed nice, but I just didn't write them all down.

Curious here, are there certain sites you almost always reserve? Are some areas better than others (not considering electric vs non-elec.).

We were looking for ones that had plenty of tree clearance (so Lola won't be scraped by limbs) and looked to be dry (some looked low). Another thing we're interested in is a site that has trees, but also has a clearance for our satellite dish to work properly. I know, I know, we're camping, but we still like to stay in touch with news, etc.

There's a chance we might be able to do 9/5-7 or 9/6-8, do they allow you to stay on Friday and not Saturday? We are scheduled to go to the Highland Haven "sort of Rally" in Virginia the next week, and then the Pennwood in PA in October, so I don't know for certain how much time my DH can get off so close together.

Hi Deb. We tend to stay around 201/203ish and 175-178 areas when we all go. Nice big sites and major tree clearance.

We will be there fri 7th and sat the 8th. Loudruff is showing up the 6th. Hope to see you there so we can meet before the Pennwood trip!

Hi Deb,
We would love to get to meet you. Hope you get to come up and join us at Findley SP on Sept. 6-9. Larry and I plan on going over on Thurs. We are retired and so we can be there earlier. Most of our other Airstream neighbors around here must work and so they will catch up to us on Fri., Sat. and Sun.
We try to pick sites that are not low, very long (so we can get the tow vehicle off of the road) and with no dead branches overhead...if we can. We also try to pick a site....at least one if a bunch of us are meeting...that has a decent fire ring area. We love to visit around the campfire and invite everyone to join us, so we need a bigger area sometimes. Since our house is about 10-15 min. from this State Park, we bring firewood.
