Ohio State Parks Reward Cards

My friend sent me a note to see if I had signed up for the Ohio State Park rewards card, which I knew nothing about. It seems that it is a points reward system for those who frequent the state parks. Here is the link: ODNR Division of State Parks > parks > rewardscard

Sign up by June 30 and you can get points from some of 2009 dates that you stayed.
I will have to get to a state park and sign up. Anyone else aware and participating in this program??

not a good day

So today we were on a road trip to the Crown Battery Manufacturing Co. to pick up new batteries for the Excella. And while we were going thru Bellevue we passed through a big rain storm. Loren called as we were paying the sales man for the batteries to let us know that three pine trees went down right across the Excella. Probably a tornado, or severe wind sheer. It tore the tops right out of two of the trees and the tops then knocked the smaller trees over. Larry and Mike spent hours to try and free the trees from the trailer without doing more damage. We thought we were going to see lots of damage to the top. However, there was only one dent in the front curved panel, curb side, a broken marker light, sprung door, refrigerator vent damaged, crushed the AC and killed the shroud. Larry thinks that the AC has pushed down the inside ceiling too. There is a bulge. Mike and Larry did a great job of getting the trees off without damaging the rest. Tomorrow we will be testing fantastic fans, windows, and stuff to make sure we have not missed anything. Wicked weather!
Looks like we are in for a trip to JC sometime soon.

That is terrible Lou and Larry. I am so sorry your new airstream got hit by the storm. I hope the damage isn't too bad tomorrow when you check. The weather is definitely wicked there was a 5. magnitude Canadian earthquake, felt here in Michigan and New York and even Illinois about 1:45 p.m. this afternoon. What time did the trees go over?

time

I think they went over about 3:30 or so. Loren called us and we were on the way back home by 4:00. Stressed out all the way. I kept telling Larry to slow down....we felt like racing! We are supposed to have more of the storms through here after midnight. We moved the trailer to the other driveway. There are too many tipped trees right now to risk it over there. We have a big mess to clean up....not including the trailer which is just a mess on the outside...pine tree dirt and debris all over it. The yards are a big mess. The house is plastered with wet green leaves.and will need washing down. Ick!

I,m so sorry to hear of your bad news. I was watching the news at 5 yesterday afternoon, when they showed some shots from Lagrange of an Airstream with some pine trees laying on top of it. Instantly my heart fell and I thought of you. I was hoping that it was not your trailer, and not your trees either for that matter. Hoping all is fixed soon. Bob

We got hit in Western Ohio last night about 11:30pm. Not much damage that I have heard of but some nasty weather. Sorry to hear of your damage. Hopefully your insurance company will make it right. I'll bet that opened up some leaks.

thoughts

Thanks, Everyone, for your kind and positive thoughts. We have gotten all three of the trees off of the trailer, and dragged it away so that as the trees settle they do not do more damage. Larry and Mike worked long, hard, hot and sweaty hours last night to do it before dark. The clean up begins. Have that crunched corner panel on the curbside front that will be difficult to deal with. The AC is probably the biggest mess. The tree pushed down on it, and it seems to be pushed into the ceiling inside somewhat. The shroud is toast. Larry had just resealed all of the seams on top and we will probably have to do that all over again. Larry called JC to see if he could get an appointment to have it inspected and the crunch considered. We will see.

On the other hand, we found out that DanB and Dawn were not going to go to the Birthday Bash because there is something wrong with the wiring harness/trailer brakes etc. So we have decided to give the trailer a bath, and pile them into our AS and go to the BB! Hopefully all will go well. Take the lemons and make lemonade!
Guess we will see what works!

Woohoo! Glad to hear you're all going to make it to the bash! Can't want to see you pull in triumphing over the damage from the storm. We're here now. Everyone's doing dinner on their own, the fire is already going, and happy hour was huge. Kids are everywhere and so are generators :-)
