We're back after a hiatus in 2011...so save the date & mark your calendars!

The 2012 Rocky Mountain Vintage Airstream Club Rally plans are underway. Come join us as we celebrate another Rocky Mountain Rally at the Rockin' Wally-B Ranch!

We will circle the wagons the nights of July 26-30 somewhere between Buena Vista and Crested Butte, Colorado. We plan to do it the way Wally did – dry camping in an open field – no hook-ups. We will park without assignments, just park as you arrive; expect a limit of 85 spaces.

Registration will open March 1st, 2012

Additional Rally details will be published on the rally web site (RMVAC.org ) mid-February.

Boy, there's some pretty wild country between Crested Butte and Buena Vista. Not even many roads in there!

this is good news! sorry to see how the chaffee county fairgrounds screwed you over...although not real surprised.

Where'd you go to "see" the fairground story?

And is there NO possibility of a wet & wired site for this one?

cojer, Yes it was an unfortunate circumstance we were put in the lurch. In defense, we have gotten help from Comm. Dennis Giese who has been actively searching himself. Chris and I will be heading that direction in morning to check out sites. Mark Phonoff, Poncha Springs mayor has also given assistance, as well as Jim Miller, Paul Jensen, Herb Simth, Dave Hartman, just to name a few. All toll, we received 14 offer to help

The new locations we are considering have water available if you need to re-fill your tanks, dumps nearby and generators are a-okay to use for electrical.

It is the goal of the planning committee is to have electric available for those with special needs - as well as other similar facilities to past RMVAC Rallies...that's why Jim & Chris are visiting the locations - THX guys!

Regardless, the rally will be as awesome as ever! You can't tie the Rockin' Wally-B Ranch down to a map, it exists - where ever we are!

Once the exact gathering spot is tied down, more information will be made available - which should be in the next week or two. In the meantime, save the dates & check the website for "latest & greatest".

Is this rally open to all?

This is a Vintage Airstream Club Rally open to all members of the Vintage Airstream Club, whether as a Regular Member (own a vintage Airstream) or Associate (do not own a vintage Airstream).

The VAC is an Intra-Club of the WBCCI - you must be a member of the WBCCI to be a member of the VAC. It is open to all members, but is a club "members only" rally. It draws nearly 100 rigs every year - if it were open to non-members, it would just get too big. The planning committee likes to enjoy the rally too, thus the limitation and more intimate (well, if you call 200 people intimate!) feel.

Vintage crew! Thanks for all your hard work to make this Vintage Rally happen. Due to the economy and other challenges it will be one of the few rallies we can get too.

I understand there is a rally in Fleming, CO. in May. Is this the same club as the one above? Do you have to be a member to attend the one in Fleming

Sort of, but not really...

The May Maintenance Rally (in Flemming this year) is a DenCO Unit rally. The Rocky Mountian Rally is a Vintage Airstream Club Rally. The planning folks for the RMVAC belong to the DenCO Unit so a lot of the same people attend both rallies. But the RMVAC Rally is not a DenCO Rally.

The May Rally is geared towards people both with new & old trailers and is a "dust-off-the-cobwebs-after-winter" type of event whereas the RMVAC rally is geared towards the love, care & feeding of vintage rigs.

The May rally welcomes all WBCCI members to attend (or non-members who want to come check out the DenCO Unit)...the July rally is for VAC members only.
