Photos from the St. Patricks Day Rally @ Desert Star Ranch

I have uploaded some photos on behalf of Stuart and Bonnie Resor who hosted this rally on their ranch (Desert Star Ranch ) which is located Borrego, California.

Summary of meet: Ten Airstreams and a handful of other campers made the trip out to Borrego generally from the coast but Norm and Lois Showers drove out from Pennsylvania and got the "Long Distance Award". Al Florino brought his '67 Caravel down from Lake Arrowhead. Since he's the original owner it's still under the "Lifetime Warranty"!

The weather was the big story. Windy and dusty at times not pleasant outside. As hosts Bonnie and I felt responsible for the conditions but of course there was little we could do. Suprisingly everyone toughed it out. Saturday evening astronomers Grace and Dr James Ricard showed everyone the moon and Mars through thier telescope and then gave a short update on what was going on in radio astronomy and with the hubble telescope. Everyone huddled in our mobile home for that gig!

This was the first Airstream meet at the site and the first of many we hope. Since there are no hookups we can only host "Primitive Site" camping and meets. For $2 people can fill and empty thier tanks at the State Park campground nearby. There's not much at the site but it is fenced and gated and fitted with a wire mesh "Critter fence" all around. It's level and compact and if its desert scenery and adventure your after...This is the spot!!

I thought it was me. It seems the only way I can link to a member's photos is from the "Forums" link and then clicking on the Member Photos link....
