November dash to Deshutes (formerly Maryhill, WA)
We are toying with the idea of a weekend at Maryhill State Park in Washington - near hood river - November 11 - 13, 2005. They have about 50 sites with services on a first come first serve basis and the park is on the Columbia river.
Stuff to nearby includes a full scale replica of Stonehenge and the Maryhill Museum (largest collection of Rodins anywhere)
November 11 is a holiday for many - wanna go camping one last time?

I have spent the summer searching for my first car, a Mustang I sold back in '93 after college. Well, I've finally located it, and made the deal, and I am going to go pick it up with a car hauler and bring it home that weekend! But the best part is that we're going to Yakima to pick it up, so we'll be driving right by Maryhill. Maybe we'll swing by and say Hi on the way home with our treasure

Janet,
Jonathan and I were talking about Maryhill at the rally. They have a nice group camping area with hookups and a shelter. We both stayed at the CG this summer.......he on the way up to Glacier, and we on the way up to the Trout Lake rally. It's a great park (albeit it can get windy).....and a favorite place for windsurfers to congregate. I could probably attend, but Cheryl has a committment.

Very cool - we wanted to check the palce out for a full fledged bash next year - and this seemed like the perfect oppertunity. I really want to see steph's car and tell Cheryl she's missing out!

Interesting - and coincidental. We are hoping to go to Lacey to look at a Mustang if I can get away from work that weekend (supposed to be a long one but on a big project so may not be able). If the stars align we may just hook the '51 up and bring it along. The mustang is a driver and I'd let my wife drive it home, with me driving the car and trailer. I will let you know as soon as I'm sure I can get the Friday off.

Another mustanger What kind of pony is it, Barry?
Jim, does Cheryl let you go out alone? Of course, the important question is - will GG be attending?

Ok, we're in....My hope is that this Saturday the Huskies will finally win a game and I can rub it in to Jim that yes, we suck, but at least we beat OOOOOO!SSSSSSS!UUUUUUUU! O..S...OSU! But I know my poor Dawgs, I will probably be eating these words, and Jim will remind me that not only did OSU beat us, but a few years ago KState beat us too.
But the bottom line is that any time you have an opportunity to see Stonehenge, or some sort of a henge, you better grab a hold of it.

A 70 Mach 1. We've not owned one of those before, always had our '57 Pontiac wagon, but the second car has been either a '70 Chevelle SS or Corvette. One or the other usually hanging out in the shop but have always greatly admired the early mustangs and my wife quite likes the 70. If I'm going to buy one I want either a Mach 1 or Boss 302 and given I'm not rich the Boss is out. Just a toy to play with on weekends now and then when we aren't out with the trailer. The one we've located in Lacey seems to fit the bill but need to go take a hard look.
What year is yours?

Mine's a 74 Mustang II Mach I, an entirely different beast But I did go up and look at a project 70 Mach I up in Tacoma a couple years ago. It had been sitting in a field a little too long for my tastes. I've restored two 68 mustangs and finished a 68 vette. Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment, as I keep bringing mustangs home!

I think we're in. Sounds like a great way to end a week of vacation. (And I knew there was a reason why I was putting off cleaning out the Safari for the Winter!)

Ha Ha!
Kathleen - I read your blog the other day.... gotta be careful, don't know when those pesky Trojan's show up! (Hint - there's a family of them right next to you!).
Ok - Mona and I work (well, I sleep) during Friday, but if we can re-arrange a family commitment, we'll be there! I'll let everyone know.... ("Fight on, for USC, for....")
(as a side note, we do root for the Huskeys, EXCEPT when they play the our team! I would like them to win a game too!).

Oh, yeah I forgot. Thanks Marc for putting the song back in my head, I've been trying for 2 weeks to get it out! Ok, so you are number 1, stop punishing me with the fight song.

It will be cold! I'm a little worried about snow on the pass, but I figure if we hit it all during the day it won't be too bad. Be sure to bring the outdoor propane heaters for evening though!

Kathleen,
Does this mean you'd rather be with AS'ers vs being at the game watching the Huskies beat up on Oregon State?
Steph,
Does this mean you and Dave are coming too?
I figure we'll all have to congregate in someone's trailer after dinner to keep warm! It certainly won't be like Beverly Beach!
The Gorge can be pretty nasty driving during the winter months......we'll have to watch the weather closely to see if there are any travel advisories posted around that time.

Dave and I will just be dropping by during the day. We'll have a car on a trailer behind the van, instead of an Airstream, so we'll just visit for a bit and then head on home. Too cold to sleep in the van!

Lets rally !
I am in. I have a propane heater if we need it.
Stef, I will bring along the coffee pot for ya if you are stopping by. BTW, it was snowing on Satus Pass US-97 today.
I was up there today and the weather wasn't that bad, just chilly and showery.
