Ummm.. no offense, sorry, Norby, but,...
HAIL NO.
ROMMEGROT (SOUR CREAM PORRIDGE) / Serves 6 4 dl (1 2/3 cups)
35 percent fat sour cream
about 3 dl (1 1/4 cups) flour
about 1 1/4 liters (5 cups) full fat milk
3/4 teaspoon saltPhoto by Per Eide and Bengt Wilson
From The Norwegian Kitchen Sour cream porridge with dried meats was festive food in the olden days and is still considered that today.
Sour cream porridge must be made from high fat (35%) natural sour cream, with no stabilizers or gelatin added. For the best results, use homemade sour cream. Heat 2 1/2 dl (1 cup) whipping cream to 35 C (95 F), almost body temperature, then whisk in 2 tablespoons buttermilk. Let stand at room temperature at least 8 hours, until thickened.
Simmer sour cream, covered, about 15 minutes.
Sift over 1/3 of the flour. Simmer until the butterfat begins to leach out. Skim off the fat.
Sift over the remaining flour and bring to a boil. Bring the milk to a boil and thin the porridge to desired consistency. Whisk until smooth. Simmer about 10 minutes, and season with salt. Serve with the fat, sugar and cinnamon.

Still wanting to come but ...
I've run into a problem with the Bambi: While moving it just one hour to my new house, the door popped open AND broke through a bungee cord. Luckily, the whole thing didn't fly off into traffic, and it apparently slammed shut so hard that it stayed that way for the remaining 50 miles, but it did pop off one of the hinges, which no longer seems to match up with the door.
Any chance that, at Moraine View, I could trade some polishing, for which I DO have the tools, (or other labor) for a little muscle & expertise & tools for reattaching this ornery thing?
I could tell from creases in the hinges that the door had popped open at some point in its life, and I always strap suicide doors shut anyway, but at some point I'm also going to install some sort of latch near the bottom, where both doors on my vintage trailers tend to gap at highway speeds.

Missed last year. Coming this year.

The WBCCI folks don't get their official rally notices until the week of the 13th of March. We did put a small note in the January newsletter.
http://www.gslunit.org/janfeb2006.pdf
Unless a few of them jumped the gun, I don't believe there are any reservations from the STL unit yet. My only guess is that potentially we have others on the forum who have not confirmed with me, or there are others outside our group who have specifically requested sites. Keep in mind that we hold no block of sites. The Moraine folks will put us together when they get reservations, but they will honor any request from anyone for a specific site. That's why I harp on getting your reservation in early, even if you aren't sure you can make it.
If any of you out there are in receipt of a confirmed reservation, but would rather I do not post your name, please PM me so I can get you in the count. We will have give aways and other items to plan for so I do need an accurate count of attendees and their sites.
Regards,
Jack
