Activity!
Wow, I take a ten day trip and you guys add two pages of post! Glad to see things picking up.
With the 'smaller' 2007 layout I wonder if the Inherit and 3:00 will really be any farther from Center Camp than last year?
I hope to spend a little more time on the other side of town this year. I only got over there one day last year and felt like I was missing something.
We still plan to be at the Desert Rose (in Fernley) on Saturday the 29th to aclimate, and also to stop there after the Burn to readjust. It can take a while to get used to the sight of green grass again after a week on the playa!
Starting to plan ways to lessen the effects of the playa dust on the Airstream. I wonder what it would cost to just shrink wrap the entire trailer and add an airlock to get in and out?
Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Na, Silverbear just went for a beer.
Corky that is a great idea. You could vacuum bag the airstream. (Runs off to find a smiley that sux. only found )
I think the only way you will avoid playa dust is leave it at Desert Rose and just use the vacuum bag as a tent

Seriously, I saw an RV there last year that had a shower tent taped to the entrance doorway. You could go into the tent, close the flap, open the RV door and go in pretty dust-free. Not a bad idea!

Hey ArtStream, there's a two meter net out there every noon, on 146.52 I could try to have a radio on to listen for ya there on your trek in Monday morning, too. (Gotta go find that hand held now)
And if we'd a shouda woulda coulda registered, theme campers are susposed to be on playa Saturday or Sunday, instead of waiting for the midnite gong. Everybodies' bad, this time.

Poor blogger probably gets nervous at the grocery store too.
Lots of weird looking people who don't look like him could be
hanging around the produce section.
Scary.
To each their own...it's not for everyone. And that's okay.
I know people who went and hated it as well as those who loved it.
It is true that wherever you go, if you plan on having a bad time, you probably will.
I particularly enjoy the responses from people who have lots of opinions about it
but haven't actually been there.

Brew Calc
Brew Calculator…
12 brews + 12 gifted brews = 24 + 25%(drought factor) = 30/day x 7 days = only 210 brews! This calc is for a light brew like PBR, but if you plan a microbrew with a heavy body at 6%+ alcohol content you can cut the amount significantly down, or not.
A good breakfast brew is micro but in the heat of the day out at the trash fence a stash of PBR’s go a long way!
Before you hit the playa at night some lime 'n salt and what ever puts a spark in your heels!
The above amounts take into consideration Happy Hour at Mark’s!

The Burningman Project
I'm in the middle of a restoration on my safari and I plan on coming to the Burn with it. It will be bare-bones at best but I will have an insulated, air conditioned aluminum tent, with a refrigerator!
Here's some pics of my preparations for the Burn!
This is what I've been doing for the last week or so. Yesterday the last piece of flooring went down, and today when I got home from the default world I found a huge roll of Prodex insulation sitting in front of my gate! Just in time. Today I wiped down the walls in prep for the insulation going up.
I couldn't stand to see no posts coming up this close to the event. Lets get with the spirit! Everybody, bring clown suits and make-up!

VIKING, thanks for starting the "Crappy to Happy" contest!
You are definitely starting from almost scratch, but I'm actually trying to get the whole thing back together in time. Last week there was no inside skin on the curb side--this week it's looking like it might be possible to get on the road in a week or two. Crossed fingers here...

And I'm fretting about a worn out ceiling vent screw.....gosh
oh, does any one know of a source? Inland RV says noway, which I would assume means noway.
