Are dogs allowed? I don't recall ever seeing pets in any Burning Man pictures.

No dogs, the website should give you the reasons.

I was trying to find an airstream last year for my first burn but had no luck. I ended up renting a 30' SOB motorhome instead. Now I have a proper aluminum hut to sleep away the day in. I feel like I won the lottery!
I did'nt know that there was a contingent of streamers there or I would have stopped by to meet you. I was invited to camp with the tuna guys, and what a great bunch of folks they are. Does anyone here know the tuna guys, or their burningman history?

Ooh, ooh, ooh! I've been reading and my family is jazzed. I think we will let the doggies visit relatives and go to burning man this year. Does anyone do an airstream theme camp?

We did a forums Airstream Camp last year and it seems likely that it will happen again this year.
Artstream? Mark? Anyone?
There are also other groups of Airstreamers at Burning Man too.
It's always fun to see what develops.

Viking,
Congratulations on your new aluminum hut. That's what we do in Sweetpea! Gotta love taking a nap with air conditioning in the middle of the desert.
We bought Sweetpea just two weeks before Burning Man 2006. She's made it back every year since.
Please, please tell us about the tuna guys!
See you on the playa!

The Tuna Guys showed up at Burningman after hearing about it from friends at the Oregon Country Fair, where they had been selling tuna at their concession stand. They didn't know that you can't sell anything at the burn until they arrived there with SEVERAL THOUSAND POUNDS of the best fresh albacore tuna you can get anywhere. Rather than turn around and go back home to Oregon, they bought tickets, set up a camp, and proceeded to cook and give away all of their tuna. Keep in mind, this is their living, not a hobby. and the price for fresh albacore goes between $20 and $40 per pound!
They created quite a following that first year, and had such a good time that they have been coming back every year since. To make the fish last throughout the week they have taken to being very anonymous. A lot of people think that this is actually a myth, due to the difficulty of locating the camp. Like I said before, just follow your nose.
There is nothing like sashimi for breakfast, at midnight.
Good luck finding us!
Rich

My wife and I plan to make the trip in 2011 when we're on "hiatus." 2009 is trailer renovation year. 2010 is shakedown cruise year. It would be a great trip but until we're free of the "mooring lines," it would be tough to squeeze in Maryland to Nevada (and back) with all of the other things we're trying to get done. But we're looking forward to the playa... eventually.

2nd annual Burning Man Air Forums Airstream rally
Bamcamper, yes there will be a 2nd annual Air Forums Airstream rally at Burning Man 2009. Artstream, will you lead the group organization again this year (or delegate)? I will volunteer to do the early arrival site location work.

I was just about to look up the first annual thread and say, IS IT TIME?
Count me in. Was there any question in anybody's mind about a second annual? Hi everybody! Thanks for all the little and big jobs everybody did last year, we could do more or less the same this year.
All you experienced burners, think about hitting the BM site and filling out the volunteer form. It really gives you a kick to be part of the event, and makes you appreciate the whole thing exponentially more.
If we're not careful, we'll be a theme camp and be one of the "must see" camps on playa.
For everybody not familiar with the playa and wondering about bringing the pets, it's just not a good place for animals, except the 2 legged kinds.
