Well, carrots are vegetables, so if you wanted to make a carrot cake, we could feed our vegetarian, and give her a sugar buzz at the same time.

Ha! Remember I haveth no oveneth in the interstate!

Am thinking apple pie in the Dutch oven. Have done that before, works well.

John, you don't really have to do all that for Saturday night. We can do the sides and still contribute $ for fish, etc. Seems like a lot for you guys to take on, although very nice of you. . Sure you don't want some physical help with food for all these people??

...And on a more solemn note:

Many of you know I suffer from migraine headaches (anybody that enjoys them is a sick puppy). After several years of trial and error, we have determined one of the big triggers for my migraines is chocolate.
Since of of the main ingredients of my mudslides is chocolate, and since I can't resist sampling my own creations... In the interest of cutting down on my migraine episodes, This rally will most likely be the last one that I will be providing them.
So, drink early and drink often, they are the best thing you will never remember drinking.
But don't worry, because I'll be going in to the mad drink maker's lab, and seeing if I can concoct something to take its place for next year.

will anyone have room for a springform pan in their frig on Saturday? There is this luscious chocolate dessert I'm eyeing.
I can make sure there is room for your springform pan in my fridge.

Although, 'tis true, carrots in carrot cake absolutely count it as a vegetable and i would surely eat carrot cake for dinner any day.

Terry. Sorry to hear about your migraines! Don't provide mudslides for others that are going to make you ill! We can all drink other things!

Speaking of drinks......I brought some homemade cranberry liqueur that is delicious in ginger ale. Waiting for it to get warm enough to enjoy an iced beverage.

I can make a carrot cake since there is an offer of an oven. (Thanks). The DO would be a bit laborious for a layer cake. Cream cheese frosting. Nuts and raisins in it?

I should have space in fridge (If it is still working ) and will have oven space if you need it. We will be bringing NY Cheese cake and pound cake for dessert. My Lilly is looking forward to seeing your Lilly there.

Terry
What have they been giving you to fight the migranes? Di gets them too and has had good results with Maxalt. Have you tried that yet? If you will not be able to enjoy Mudslides perhaps you should raffel off the recipe as a door prize. What ingrediants can we help with?

John
You don't have to sponser all of us, please up the ante or at least provide a donation jar to make up for what you are doing for us all. We will be de-winterizing this weekend getting ready for the FUN. We were thinking that for breakfast on Sat that a make your own pancakes would be fun, we will provide batter and syrup and a griddle.

Can't wait to see all of you

Hey Steve, thanks for looking out for me. Glad to do it. I have a secret weapon lined up for the fish fry and the bulk of the supplies are donated. Mostly leg work and coordinating.

Could use some hands for the bog on Friday. I plan to have the ingredients, just need some help in the kitchen. We would like to have it ready so no one needs to cook anything when they arrive. No doubt there will be plenty of good help from the early arrivals.

Pancakes would be great, one of my favorites. Fixed some this morning for breakfast, along with some bacon. I really like'm when they have that little crusty ring around the edges from the bacon grease on the griddle.

Steve & Di, thanks for the offer of the frig and oven. I now have more ovens and frig space than I need! A good problem to have.

I am going to pass on the luscious chocolate dessert that needs a frig and make carrot cake that needs an oven. Terry does so much for everyone, including those mudslides.......

Found a southern living recipe that gets rave reviews and looks really yummy. Has buttermilk in the batter and a cream cheese frosting. If anyone who wants a piece of this has an allergy or extreme distaste for coconut or pineapple, speak now. There are lots of variations out there.

If the weather is hospitable, I might just bake it in the DO.

I can handle everything but the baking and the frosting. Will need to beg the use of a hand mixer from someone.

The sun is shining, skies are clear and blue at Edisto Beach!!!! There has been lotsa rain. But, we've been bike riding and tromping the beach several times a day in spite of it.

Miss lily couldn't be happier, and neither could we. Life is good.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!
