For anyone who thinks it's not worth locking your tanks in one way or another, just wait until you are the "rare" victim. It will cost you big time. We had our's stolen at a RV storage area. Here are the costs that you must consider: Cost of 2 tanks; cost of purging the new tanks; cost of filling 2, 30 gal. tanks; cost of the hassle driving around to get all this done. Yes... if you lock them, a crook can damage the unit in the theft process, however, statistically, it's easier to go on to the next RV that offers no challenges to the crook. They want easy in - easy out to make it faster.

Keep it KISS & TINY...
POI...remember the harder you make it for an imaginary thief the longer it it would take in an improbable emergency.

Google Fortress GasLock.
I have this one on my propane tanks.
They gave it to me free for testing and writing a review.
May retail between $50 and $70.
It isn't too hard to get off when refilling propane tanks.

Just wanted to say with the price of propane spiking the temptation was too great. Lost my 2 aluminum tanks over the last month in storage even though they were wrapped with a cable lock (which was cut). Learn the hard way, but they did leave a full steel tank beside the trailer. I guess I'll order an aluminum replacement and remember this lesson every winter - and get a new lock, too.

I use this...just because I had it laying around. Not much good for a tongue lock, but worked out pretty well for a propane tank lock, after cutting off the ball.

I like this idea.
Those Forklift locks were way too pricey for me.
Stolen tanks ... something else to worry about!
