Rear view camera upgrades

The quality of Pyle display / Panasonic rear view camera system on the 2015 GT has been a constant disappointment to me.

Has anyone replaced with something better? Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Okay... found the thread:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f24...on-189742.html

But you have a 2015... you might just think about a complete camera/screen kit... In Alex case, he used the screen from the Fusion system that we have on the 2018's and just added a camera.

Sorry... not much help after all...

I tossed the Pyle system out completely on my former 2014.5. I replaced it with a high-quality wireless system. The wires to the existing camera are very fine, so I doubled up the wires with 2 grounds and 2 power to the camera. I was able to access the wiring in the area above the Pyle display.

I had great images with the wireless setup.

Sorry, no. I just picked a higher priced one that had very good reviews.

The stock model in my 2016 is very nice. Clear view and detail.

Hi all,
Does anyone know how I might replace the rear-view camera on the 2020 Atlas? If so, with what model? Will it work with the existing monitor. Curiously, the images are very clear on the side-view cameras which are actuated when you use the turn signals It's the rear-view image that sucks.

I installed Haloview and it works great. Really glad I installed it; helps so. Much.

Another haloview vote. Not the most expensive, but detailed view. Night vision is not as good but maybe I am expecting too much.

Just bought a Haloview RD10 off their website to replace my current camera setup. This model doesn't appear on Amazon but they do show other Haloview models. If you look at some of the reviews of this set up the video shots are great AND in color w/ a wider and longer field of view than what I have now. The feature that sold me was the parallel backup guide lines assist. What I have now it's almost impossible to judge the distance behind the rig when I am backing up. Dangerous.

That is a great feature. Definitely worth switching for.

Thanks for showing the pic of it mounted to the mirror! I was wondering how people were mounting the screens

We upgraded to the Furrion Vision S 5 inch Wireless RV Backup System and it is unbelievable. We previously had the stock cam that Airstream installed and it is a WORLD of difference. Had it professionally installed right above our license plate, not on top as Airstream installs. Highly recommend.

Funny, we were just talking about the camera on our 2018 Classic and husband said “I’m noT bothering to take it; isn’t worth it”. We agreed I’m a far better backup view. Having had wonderful ones in our motorhomes we are disappointed in this one. Not a bit helpful on the highway or parking.

I use the Garmin BC-30 because it pairs with the Garmin RV770 GPS. It saves another screen on the dash.
However, the resolution is poor. Okay in bright sunshine, but usually backing into a campsite, at dusk, I can't tell if that blob is a shadow, bush, or rock.
The image is rock steady so the transmission path works great (Bluetooth), it just needs to be 720P instead of 300.

I have just started working with my repair shop on this same line item: my 2005 Class A has a B&W CRT in the dash and always has vertical roll when first fired up, reminds me of a early 1960's television. The adjustment pot is in the back so under the dash. I asked my shop to quote for a replacement but i don't know what brand he is recommending, and think a 3 camera system is a useful upgrade. I'll check out the HaloView for a possible recommend.

Haloview x 2

Two more votes for wireless Haloview. I added one to our 32' Excella for backup and I liked it so much I added a second camera above the first for rear view. Halo provides 3 options for viewing backup only, rear view only or split screen with both. I use the backup when parking and the rear view when driving.

I need the backup to see what is close when parking the RV and the rear view is pointed higher to view traffic coming up behind me when towing. The displays are clear and easy to see.
