Camping time with our 3 kids along for the ride...mom & pop in the rig, kids in the tent. That was our easiest decision of the weekend!

I'm spending a couple of nights at Fort Parker, near Mexia, TX. Nice small state park and I have a site right on the lake. Fort Parker Lake is formed by a dam on the Navasota River.

My site is in a grove of tall trees; so thick that the site can not be seen on Google Earth. The park is planting even more trees. There are two young trees on the back of my site ringed with wire to foil the deer. I was fortunate to get a level site The sites across the road from me would require a pile of leveling blocks for sure.

Sites are not huge, but thet=y are well spaced. I'm about 50 yards from the nearest neighbor on my side. I sure would not bring a looooong trailer in here!

The AI is just fine, but I had to thread a couple of big trees to back in.

Oddly enough for Texas in August, it was just 91 when I pulled in.

I'm at the nicest KOA in Lebanon Ohio awaiting my son's wedding on Saturday. Nice spacing, level, shade, nature, right next to a beautiful cemetery. Brand newly redone shower house. Pool to myself several times during day. Considerate fellow campers.

It is an Avion/Cayo truck camper made by Avion in 60's and 70's also marketed under the Cayo name. The Cayo family founded Avion.

A person who lives up the street from us has one of those. I always assumed it was a conversion too. Now I know the truth - thanks!

We had that exact spot a week ago. Agreed, great views and great afternoon storms. It’s a nice break from the Texas heat. How about those hummingbirds next door?
