That manual is not for the sliding drawer microwave model installed in late model Interstates. The control functions might be the same since it is from same company.

I don't understand how Airstream (especially them), can put a product like this into a coach that is $168,000 or more....don't you feel taken? I personally am very upset reading this forum and nothing is being done. We need to all contact Airstream and demand a solution to our problem....Detailed information on the operation, OR demand a replacement to a equipment that makes sense for the quality and price we paid for!!!!

Grill feature in oven

I have used the grill feature by placing aluminum foil on top of the rack provided and grilled cauliflower, drizzled olive oil, salt, pepper and finished with a little gruyere cheese. FANTASTIC GOLDEN BROWN. Remember every time you open the oven door it will pause the grilling feature until you start it. Shutting the door does not start it again automatically.

I would never use the grilling feature for meat or anything messy....BBQ for that.

I have used the grilling feature for small, bacon-wrapped steaks. I put a paper plate underneath to catch any drippings. It does a great job on those steaks.

The browning microwave was in my new 2018 AI. I never used the browning feature, only reheated a few things, but started noticing soot inside my microwave every time I opened it. The best I could figure, the coating on that browning element was coming off as a black sooty powder I was constantly wiping up. I went back to JC, explained and they replaced with a non-browning model....said they weren't installing that one any longer. So watch for that.

I have only used the browning feature once, so far. It worked well on some small steaks. I expect to try it again on this week's trip.

So far, I have not noticed any sooty residue. I would think you would get that only if you activated the browning feature.

Find information at this site: www.contoureusa.com . That is where I registered mine for the warranty.
