Good trip in my interstate
Just got back from a 4000 mile 31 day round trip excursion in my Interstate and happy to report no major problems. Pepper, my cat, and I lived in it a month...longest I've ever camped in it and everything worked. The only minor glitch was that crazy Fusion trying to reboot again mid trip. I guess I will check for an update on it. I never totally rely on it, using my phone GPS as my primary. I was out in the desert of New Mexico, lots of wind and sand. I will probably need 3 days to get it clean. I did notice awning sounds squeaky and tight as it retracts. Any suggestions for that? Silicone spray?
So I've had it now 2 years....I hope "the bugs" are worked out. It really is fun when everything is working. I had not invested in a mattress pad, but will....30 nights on the installed cushions gets a bit firm and you start to feel all the junctions.
An electric space heater worked great and provided very nice "noise" for sleeping so the heat kicked on very little at night.
Water hose froze one night, so I'm thinking of investing in a heated hose.
Did a lot of self reflecting...think I'm more of an "east of the Mississippi river" gal. I know a lot of people love the desert, the wild west, open space but I discovered I like density...people on the road...gas stations, stores, museums, etc. And I got homesick 2000 miles from home. I think I'll stay within 1000 miles from home this next year. There's a lot to see and do. And I started feeling a bit cramped after living in the interstate 2-3 weeks, so I think I will limit myself to that time frame for a while.
Overall a good trip...next is B service on the Mercedes.....$$$$$$
