First Trip About to Begin - Chicago to N. Idaho

We picked up our new 2019 Interstate Lounge/Slate Edition (#34) a couple of months ago and only have 500 miles on it so far (Columbus, OH to Chicagoland). Leaving on Tuesday, driving from Chicago to our Lake House in N. Idaho. Our route will take us from Chicago on I80, passing through Lincoln, NE, Cheyanne, WY, Jackson Hole, WY, Dillon, MT then on to Bayview, Idaho. We downsized from a Class C to the Class B but the comfort of our AI will be FAR better than our previous coach. I have been reading all the posts here for the past couple of months, using the collective advice to prepare for the trip. Very excited and looking forward to seeing the country. A little over 2200 miles and 5 days. I'm done preparing and now ready to go. Again, the advice from this forum has been very helpful. All the best!

I'm sure you are well aware of this, but watch the potholes around Chicago! Good Lord- last year I thought we'd lose an axle while traversing the Chicago area. Too many trucks, I guess . . . have fun!

Safe travels! Have fun and enjoy the trip. And if you can/want, share a few photos along the way.

The Slate Edition is such a beautiful AI.

Good luck! As someone who habitually drives solo 2,800 miles inside 5 days, my best advice is to be very conscious about watching your own fatigue levels. You said you owned another rig previously, so it's likely that you know about this already. It can creep up on you in strange and unexpected ways.

Wave hi as you pass the Tipton, IA off-ramp! I'm just nine miles north off of I-80. Safe Travels!
