Airstream Connect for 2023 I19

Sometimes it is easier to just start a new thread for a specific question.

Got the AS Connected installed. We use Verizon. Assume I just get a Verizon SIM Card and choose a plan?

Specifically:

Do I get a 5G or 4G SIM card?

Do I have to activate the SIM card at Verizon or can I do it later?

What is a good data plan if you want to stream movies, web searches, etc?

Yes, you need to get a data-only SIM card, not an iPhone SIM card. Best to do it at Verizon and know your device’s IMEI number, it should be on the peplink box you received.

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com has a lot of resources about selecting the right data plan for your needs.

I should have added - 4G. The stock Airstream Connected devices don’t support 5G connections, but you’ll be getting the same data plan either way. You just won’t get 5G speeds from it.

Your needs might be different than ours but we found that AT&T has a 20GB/month plan for $300 per year is perfect for our needs and the amount we use our AS I19. You get an AT&T prepaid SIM, sign-up online, put the SIM card into the Peplink Router and your done.

Easier for us to just stay with Verizon. Will see if they have something similar.

Not sure the AT&T option is still available.

I think it is...

https://www.att.com/prepaid/mobile-hotspot-tablet/

It is the $25/month for 20GB = $300/year. You prepay the $300 for 12 months.

That works! Maybe that is a good option for movies, and internet. Just don’t have a good feel for how much data.
