Here's my Airstream basset, Rhoda...cooling off on Oak Creek in Sedona, AZ back in May. Gorgeous campground, I might add! Also went to Big Bend National Park. Camped in the Rio Grande "no hookups" area...and she really enjoyed the wildlife....rabbits, javelinas...

Here's my nine-year old Golden, Evy. She camps with us everywhere. In fact, we kid that we bought the AS for her because she was cramped in our former 17-foot SOB!

My Friends:
Here are two of my best friends. Any tips on traveling with them for a newbie owner of a Intl 23D?

Cute! For starters, I think dogs that small have advantages for travel compared to larger ones. You can likely find good, secure travel crates that will keep them safe in your tow vehicle while on the road. You can also likely get away with a small portable fence as some folks in the forum do at campsites to keep their dogs contained without tie-outs/leads.
We also use small collapsible rubber bowls in the tow vehicle so Daisy can have a drink or eat some food at rest stops.
Don't leave them in the trailer alone when at camp grounds. Even with the AC on. We were at a camp recently and the voltage dropped enough to trip our surge protector which shut off the AC several times. If you need to get away do the day, look for campsites that either offer doggie day care or are near a Camp Bow Wow or other outfit.
There are also a few threads in the forum about fencing, creative set ups in the camper and so on. Have fun!!

Ben my Saint
This is Ben. He came from the Saint Bernard rescue when he was 4. He was found near the Mexico border covered with ticks and hair so matted it was dragging the ground. Speculation was he was being used as a drug mule.
No worries, he has a happy life and loves his Airstream.
Is Blue my color?
Road Trip!
Happy dog
Working on Airstream makes for a tiring day

So Ben is asking me if Daisy, Bosco and Quilter's dog will let him join the 'Looking out the window' club? He does not think the 'Swimmers' club is a good match for him.

Here's Lizzy
Lizzy knows when we're packing the motorhome for a trip...in this picture, we had just started to pack...I turned around & she had grabbed a toy from her stash in the garage...trotted to the moho & gave me a look as if to say I had forgotten something!
1st picture is my best advice for traveling with a dog....invest in a ThunderShirt...might not work for all dogs, but, made a big difference in Lizzy. She's OK on smooth roads, but doesn't like rumble strips! Now, should we hit a rough patch she just rolls her eyes...oh, wait that's me. She did log another 6,000 miles riding mostly in her bed on the dog house cover.

Take pictures of your pet on your trailer when you get your trailer...
I can't leave my cat for very long- I get separation anxiety. She is my constant companion and friend. If she is not in my lap she is beside me at all times.
I think I may just have the sweetest kitty in the wide world. I don't think there is another like her.
