Prodigy P3

I installed a Prodigy P3 brake installer last year. When I slow down to less than 10 mph it locks up. I got a new one from the factory and it does the same thing. Otherwise it works good. It gets very annoying when slowing down for a stop sign 🙂 Anyone know what it could be??

Why do you think the P3 is defective? If you have the Boost or the voltage set too high, of course it is going to lock the brakes. Just turn down the Boost and voltage and you should be good.

It’s either boost or the brakes on your trailer.

I had a P3 that failed and it gave an error code and warning.
If the screen is displaying normally then it is not likely a brake controller issue unless the settings need to be adjusted.

One of my car trailers has very grabby brakes and I have to run zero boost or it locks up at low speed.
My other trailer has much less grabby brakes and I need to run on boost 3.
I suspect it’s in the brake shoe compound.

My airstream is about perfect, boost 1 and gain at 7 and I don’t feel the trailer at all.
