Marc, That sounded like a good idea to me but the powers higher than me said no, no, no so I guess the bumber will go back on. I will try to find some pics of the bath before we took it apart. Marvin

Marc
Sorry Marc, This is the only pic of the bath I could find now, I have another of the shower but can't find it.

I didn't get a lot last week as the weather was bad here, rain almost every day, but the farmers needed it.

This week I started on the outriggers, I am replacing 5 on the curb side, the insluation had fallen and kept the bottom of the outriggers wet and they rusted about half way up.

This is the new ones I got from Airstream, I don't like them as well as the original ones but the parts guy said they sell a lot of them. They seam to be about 1/8" shorter than the old ones too.

Welded outriggers on today. I replaced 9 on the street side and 8 including the two step outriggers on the curb side.

Nice job on the outriggers, Marvin!
When I did the ones on my Argosy 22, oh so many years ago, I made them myself. I never knew Airstream sold them.
I had mine made like the old ones. They were AWESOME!
Keep up the good work!

Today was sand blast day. After 800 lb. sand and about 6 or 7 hours I got eveything blasted and ready for por 15. I thought I had more pics of the process but I guess Annie was slacking on her newly appointed photography job

Hi Sharon, The sand was $105.00 and I rented a big compresor as mine would have taken me all week to do what I did in a day with this one, the rental was $95.00.

Inspirational as I am procrastinating welding in a bunch of repair outriggers here, good (and embarassing) to see seventeen of them done at once, bet it was satisfying too!!

I got to share this from experience; it's the fumes of the curing AFTER POR-15's carrier solvent has evaporated that is the worst part of using it; Next time I paint with it I'll be wearing a cartridge respirator against the fumes we get exposed to when applying the second and third coats...

Those pictures bring back memories . ..

Do you plan on building all new cabinets and the like inside or do you plan on reinstalling the old?

New wiring? Plumbing?

Hi Spiffy, Yes we plan on most everything changing except the bath and it will get a sink and vanity out of a newer AS. This one had twins, planning on a sideways queen, the closet, kitchen and living will be totally different too. Keep checking. I started the Por 15 today and will have pics on later this evening Thanks Marvin

Do you plan on adding any tricks (satellite wiring, video, built-in generator, etc.)?

Don't forget to enjoy the remodel journey - it will help when unexpected costs come or things don't work according to plan.

Not really adding much, just a coax for our dish and phone things like that, going to carry generator in back of the truck.

Ok, today was Por 15 day, I am glad this is over now I can get on with putting the subfloor patches down, the belly pan and banana rap and get on with the inside.
