water heater bypass

anyone had a ploblem with there factory installed bypass? small square box inside side door at water heater, mine was leaking and when I went to winterise it sent antifreeze to the water heater with it in the bypass mode....can it be bought or is there a good fix ???? thanks Tom

The bypass one my heater was leaking and I found the bottom end of the pipe was too tight and squashed the washer which is quite thick and got distorted.

Your friendly RV person should have some for you. My dealer didn't charge me for it.

Be careful installing it as they are thick and should not be tightened too much or they will leak and/or restrict water flow.
