Restoration Tally

So my restoration guy, Ron from South Jersey RV, sent me my first invoice of things done to the Sovereign. I'm very happy with the work I've seen from him, and the price to me is very reasonable for what was done. Build cost so far, including parts, is $4390.59. Here's a breakdown of what has been done:

7/13-7/14: Removed rear underbelly tank pan and tank. Removed rotted steel to determine new steel req'd. Found approx. 6" bad wood at rear floor. Remainder of steel is OK.

8/8-8/12: Began carpet removal. Measured for new mattresses and sofa cushions.

8/17: Replaced clearance lights. Continued removal of galley counter. Picked up holding tank pan and steel for pan support.

8/18: Began repair of floor at doorway. Decision made on upholstery fabric as per Strittmatter(?) selection.

8/19: Completed floor repair at doorway.

8/20: Owner visit. Replace all copper water piping w/ pex. Install new TV antenna and discard existing signal booster. New drapes to be Adamo White (from Ambruso). Install scare light. New water pump to be Whisper King.

8/22: Began removal of copper water piping, existing converter.

8/23: Remove bath lav. faucet and old water pump mount platform. Began alteration of existing duct for new heat duct connections.

8/24: Completed removal of converter & water piping. Began platform for mounting new furnace.

8/25: Completed installation of new furnace and alteration of ductwork to accomodate new unit.

Demolition hours came in at 30.25 hours at $35/hr and Standard hours came in at 32.50 hours at $65/hr. Parts are 1089.34 so far. I think that's pretty reasonable. What do you say?

Having done a similar job to my Tradewind as what you're having done, I'd say it is reasonable. Not cheap, but reasonable so long that you're happy with the outcome. His accounting of the hours spent makes sense as well. Looks good to me!

Leo,

The $35/hr is his demolition rate. His regular repair rate is $65/hr, which I still find to be very reasonable.

I'm not in California anymore, Leo. I live in Maryland now. I lived in California for five years.....jeez, I'd like to write something, but now I'm afraid of being censored again!
