Well that is interesting

The local mobile homeless (RV's and vans) encampment has a new member.

An Airstream has joined the falling apart SOB's. Nice to see the community spruce up.

I saw an interview with him where he said he owns three Airstreams, I believe, and has been all over the country in them.

Lots of celebrities owning Airstreams these days, making one want to look closely at your neighbors.

A better class of trailer ***** ??
For some reason, that reminded me of the 1972 Cult classic film, by John Waters. "Pink Flamingos"

BTW If you are in SoCal and had what looks like a new 23 footer stolen...

Look between Ave. G and H on the east side of the 14.

Could you be more precise with the Southern California address please?

There was a 23' stolen on Tuesday, in San Jose in Northern California:

. . . although any satellite images are probably older IMO.

Thanks.

Could you update us with an actual location, so that the OP in the following Stolen trailer thread can benefit from your suggestion?

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/stolen-221292.html

Thanks.

Which city are you talking about? Did it look like this attachment? I can send the police that way if it is mine.

Thank you,

Angela

Thank you to everyone that is keeping an eye out. The car that stole it is registered to Mexican nationals, so it may have been taken to Mexico. I had just got the trailer back from the remodeling service shop and didn’t even have a moment to think about the GPS tracker. I never even camped in it. Now I have to fight the insurance company that wants to pay the 1974 unremodeled value.

Thank you for the new update, sorry for your continuing troubles. Your "Stolen" thread has some updates, including ones from "Goin camping," who feels that the trailer he saw was not yours:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/stolen-221292.html

No update there either about what city, but maybe some better clues to work from IMO.

Good luck with the insurance company . . . we went through similar problems years ago. Thankfully, you should be able to document your remodeling costs, and will recover most of them.

I went through this with my Jeeps a couple years ago. I provided information regarding condition and features, and ended up getting more than twice what they originally said they would pay.

One advantage you have over some of the rest of us is that you had someone else do the work. Not only do you have an invoice to provide the insurance company, but you have a third party to verify the information. Because the work was so recently done, you should also be able to get reimbursed for the labor (not just the "value of parts").

So sorry about your Airstream. Best of luck getting things worked out with the insurance company and getting back into another Airstream!

??? Steeling a person's Airstream is wrong and inexcusable. Period. I have been in some *really* difficult situations in my life, but stealing another person's property, especially when it is tantamount to their home, is never an option, no matter how bad off you are.

Happy trails,
