DFW area "check-in"
Not sure if this is cricket and won't feel offended if Moderators move or remove the thread but it occurred to me that I hadn't ever seen a thread where Air Forums members of a certain geographic region could just "check in" and converse about Airstream things they have in common.
So in the spirit of that, would welcome any other AS folks in the greater Dallas Fort Worth area (let's say up to 100 miles radius from DFW Airport) to say hi.
Dana

As one of several mods, my opinion is not gospel but I certainly see nothing wrong with it, especially in the "Off Topic" forum.
Oh, and I'm in Fort Worth, but you already knew that. And I've now winterized my Argosy 3 or 4 times this winter! (I think it's 4 but could only prove 3 right now.) It's nice to camp in the "winter" around here but a pain when it freezes 3 days after it's 80F!
Hopefully those northern types won't read this thread and get too jealous of the fact that I've been out camping 3 times since the beginning of December and will be making it 4 in a week.

Glad to hear from you David.
Am waiting a couple more weeks, then de-winterizing and probably going to either Mineral Wells or "home park" at Cooper for the first weekend outing of the season.
We are in process of selling the house and anticipate much more camping when we are free of yard work and home maintenance.

I am here too
North of Denton a few miles. I have State Partk a couple mile from me and many nice places around the area for us Campers. I like to invite the DFW Folks ...and anyone else...to come by and work on their Airstreams, hands on. Plenty of room to boondock also. North shore of Lake Ray Roberts.

No, downsizing to an apt. Still a few years to retirement, so no fulltiming for now. We are almost neighbors, Rowlett here

DFW area
Well I bought an Airstream so I might think outside of the box and I live in Burkburnett and that puts me outside of the radius. I will say hi anyway.

DW is from WF and we lived there from 1981 to 2000, so you get former neighbor status. Welcome!

Bumping this thread now that it is camping season. Thinking about a trip to Beavers Bend.

Checking In
I had to winterize 3 times this winter, but we enjoyed quick camping trips in February and March. I think winter is finally over. Planning a trip to Pine Creek Lake in OK, May 23-26. Expect to see meteor shower/storm in "Dark Skys". Closest camping with true "dark skys" from my house, 143 miles. Hello Milky Way.
