Site updates and Mobile App Changes Today

Over the next couple of days we are going to be making some changes to the site to improve security and stability and you may see some slow page loads as systems update. App users in particular may have trouble connecting until service providers and app installations update. There are some things you can do if your app is acting up to help improve connections.

Clear your devices cache
Uninstall the app
Cycle your device off and then on
Reload the app

If this is unsuccessful, waiting a few hours and then repeating the process may be all that's needed. In the interim, this site has a simple mobile version that is quite nice - no app needed. All you need to do is navigate to the site on a regular browser and the mobile view should open.

We understand that not being able to log in through usual means causes frustration but we take site security seriously and these are needed updates. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Not sure why, but ever since you did the "enhancement", I have had trouble getting and/or staying logged on when I am using my laptop and Firefox. App on phone works just fine.

Example: I enter my User Name and password, click "Log in", I get the "if your browser doesn't automatically redirect you" page, then, if I make it to the next page and am still logged in, when I click on "New Posts", I get the "sorry, there are no new threads...." And I am no longer logged in.

I have tried everything I know to do, still have the problem.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a typical IT upgrade. I have never seen one that did not do more damage than good.

Thank you.... I will try that.

As for IT upgrades: "Hardware will eventually break..... software will eventually work."

Same here... Examples:

1. I log in on the Portal Page and click on a thread. When I get to the thread, I may or may not be logged in. If I'm not logged in at this point, I begin to see the many ads that I did not see when I was logged in.

2. I get to a thread and see that I'm logged in and then I return to the Portal Page and see that I'm not logged in.

3. I am logged in and replying to a thread post and click on the "paper clip" icon to add a photo, and a pop-up window alerts me that I'm not logged in!

In each of these examples, the quick and temporary fix was to reload the page.

BTW, it is disconcerting that when exiting AirForums, currently one is not sure if they are actually still logged in or not!

Janet - Thanks for all that you and the rest of your team do to bring this huge part of our Airstream life to our electronic devices each day. I can't imagine how much must be involved behind the scenes, but I'm glad that you are there moderating. Just as we occasionally encounter bugs in our camping adventures, so too must we endure the occasional "bug" here. In the end, it's all about living the dream!

Seems to be working fine for me both on my laptop (with Safari browser) and on my iPhone.

No mention of any "tweeks" being made, but I can stay logged in now without the "remember me".

I now see the avatar and embeded photos on screen in the ios app which were place holders before. I do notice that when I view items in the market place they have a "grayed out" appearance when selecting any of the secondary images.
