1965 Trade Wind owner - looking a for a deadbolt replacement

Does anyone know where find a 3 1/2 inch backset deadbolt lock. Previous owner drilled it our when he lost his keys. The 3 1/2 inch long deadbolt shaft was destroyed along with the outside and inside lock set. Bummer.

Hi and welcome to these Airstream forums. The mid sixties Trade Winds are one of my favorite vintage Airstreams. I had a 66 that I renovated, see photo.

The sixties trailers came with Bargman locks. They are pretty good and last a long time, but eventually do wear out. My son's 69 Globetrotter had one too. Hang on, these old locks and parts are quite expensive. Check ebay to see what I mean.

I might suggest you try MountainBlue here on these Forums. He is the Bargman lock specialists and can sometimes help out with a part, or a rebuilt lock. He may see your post and chime in. Let's see if he does.

I recently purchased a deadbolt from e-trailer, just like the ones that Vintage Trailer Supply is out of stock on, if that helps. I installed one on the frame side of my 79 Sovereign and my '67 has a similar one installed in the door. I'm planning on putting the lock on the frame side of my Caravel. Welcome. Jerry

X2 with docflyboy. Etrailer has the same deadbolt (1" throw). VTS is still OOS. I mounted mine in the body.
