2010 Summer Vacation Day 11-Lake Shasta

Day 11 got off to an early start. We left Howard Prairie at 10:30 and took a steep downhill road for 17 miles down to I-5. The brakes got a workout and performed well. I had the V10 in second gear and still had to brake at times. The Ford ITBC also works very well and is conveniently placed. We stopped for lunch at a rest stop and then drove straight to Antlers RV Park in Lakehead. The total distance to Lake Shasta was 140 miles and the yellow-white spray residue was again evident under my hood. I won't clean it this time as I want Ford to see it when I get home.
The weather is hot today. It was near 100 when we arrived at 2PM and our luck ran out with shady spots as our site is fully exposed. The AC will get a workout the next 2 days. The park is ok..lots of people and tons of kids. It will be a bit noisy tonite we suspect. We plan to see the dam tomorrow and who knows what else. It may be too hot to leave Buddy in the trailer so we will see what we can do.
