Maxim Skylight

Just some quick photos of my Maxim Skylight install.
Maxim is a great company to work with and they provide an excellent product. It is very simple to order your new skylight by simply providing Maxim with the measurements of your skylight opening and adding 1/4” to each measurement to allow the new skylight to slide down over the existing roof curb.

They ALL Leak, At Some Point.... Right?

Posted 12-29-2018 at 11:27 AM by GMFL
Updated 12-31-2018 at 07:36 PM by GMFL

OK so I developed a very small leak in one of the curved panoramic windows in the front of my 2014 23D. I noticed it when washing the trailer. There was a small amount of water in the front window seal behind the curtain. We have never had a problem with their trailer leaking during any of the monsoon rain storms that we’ve camped in this leak was only noticed when I had the rock guards off the windows and was spraying the window with a jet nozzle for the water hose after drying everything up and...

Replaced all the plugs and put the new ones in junction boxes

Posted 12-17-2018 at 07:16 PM by GMFL
Updated 12-17-2018 at 08:20 PM by GMFL

Re-wired and replaced all my plugs today. Got rid of the CRAP RV style plugs and put them all in a proper junction box. Now all my plugs are Commercial Grade TR plugs in a Carlon PVC wall boxes.
The pop in boxes have Tabs that hold them in place but I added pop riveted to pull inside skin tight against the junction box so the plug cover is tight in place.
I’m glad to have this one done. Those connections in the factory plugs are real sketchy.

Victron BMV 702 with Bluetooth dongle install

Posted 12-16-2018 at 07:57 PM by GMFL
Updated 12-20-2018 at 05:30 PM by GMFL

Installed a new Victron BMV battery monitor with shunt and Bluetooth dongle.
This is a fairly easy install. Biggest thing you have to do is make sure that all the (-) negative battery leads are on the load side of the monitor shunt. This is best done by running a wire straight from the (-) negative battery post to the shunt and then a wire from the load side of the shunt to a distribution bus bar where all the other (-) negative leads will attach.
Once that is done and you have found...
