Managed to install Aili monitor. Looking forward to investigating currents. Our low current with fridge off is 445 mA so it looks like something might be going on. The power bus that we had issues...

I was under the impression that the Aili used a shunt which is equivalent to the circuit that the Victron 712 would use. I'll let you know if otherwise. Thanks for all your feedback, it is much...

Thanks for the info Bob. We will definitely go through the exercise of tracking down all the currents. Didn't realize the inverter could be drawing that much when turned off.

I've just ordered a...

Thanks Bob,

I noticed when the inverter is on, it is quite a drain, but do you know offhand what the quiescent current is for the typical 1000Watt pure sine inverter in the flying cloud airstream?...

you're right. I was thinking Watts for some reason. 0.9W is what I'm calculating. Shouldn't be an issue for a week or so, but over 4 weeks that's still about 60amp/hours so explains whats going on...

Update II

Lastly, we looked at the propane detector and it is rated for 75 milliamps which at 12V is 0.9A. Basically this will deplete your batteries over 50% in like 3 days!!! When we are camping for 2 weeks...

Batteries dying/not charging converter upgrades etc.

I have an interesting situation (2016 25' flying cloud, 2 6V in series):
Batteries have been dying from using "store" mode, recently upgraded to 4 stage converter (4655VL PD 4655VL 55 Amp Converter...

solar panels are highly sensitive to orientation/angle, if you camp north of Mexico or head to Canada roof top panels will have poor angle for collecting solar. More secure though.

OK I found this to explain temperature compensation. Warm temperatures require lower voltages otherwise the batteries could boil even at 13.6 V. THis could explain why a single stage charger could...
