I think ScrapIrony was just talking about your aluminitis having "just started" since there's always something you'll want to improve/update/upgrade/add/repair.

Hi, thanks for 'clarifying'. Ah, yes, there's several things I want to do, already started my list. Paint the roof, wallpaper kitchen and bath, new carpet, shine the beast to a mirror finish, LOTS, lol

Hi
I'm new to the forum, and this is a great thread to find. My partner (married 5 years - together 17) and I just acquired my parents' 1965 Globetrotter (Mom is not so mobile anymore so they purchased an Aerolite or somesuch). They feel rather wrenched from their old dear A/S, but happy it is still in the family. We're having fun planning renos. It is in great shape, overall. Have plumbing to do, but I'm slowly trying to change parts of the decor, so that we can feel that it is now ours. I 'grew up' camping in this A/S, and I'm looking forward to continuing making memories in it.
Fun to see all the FOD here, I'll take some time to review posts.
Cheers

Great to have you join us. I love the 60's model the style is so beautiful. Great that it's been in the family too!

Hehe... "those trailer people" eh? Have you looked at your list of Airstreams lately? You know you're just trailer trash like the rest of us!

Yet another FOD here. My partner and I bought our first Airstream 3 years ago, but have confined our travel to places near our home in Oklahoma. So glad to see this group here!

Welcome to the Airforums and the FOD Airstream crowd... And yes, there are some of us in the eastern/southern tier...
And there's an FOD rally brewing for 2102 in June in Hot Spring, Arkansas... check if out: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f523...2-a-84773.html And come on over! We're from Tucson (long trip) and are signed up...figured we could make it ihappen if we planned this far into the future... We didn't get to go to the FOD Rally in 2011, so didn't want to miss all the fun in 2012.

Art_Tab: TBRich beat me to the invitation to the FoD rally in Hot springs, but I get to add something... if you're not sure you'll have your trailer by then, they have "yurts" (all mod cons, including air conditioning) so you can reserve one of those and join us even if you're not yet aluminized.
Welcome to our shared obsession!

Greetings from the new Right to Wife State ;-) Washington. I was looking through the forums to try and solve my latest problem (batteries) when I decided to look for Family.
I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with full-timing it with limited education, so I thought I would look for a bit of inspiration in this thread. I read through some of your posts and came to appreciate your enthusiasm. Thanks. Nice to know we are every where.

Hi all... I haven't been on the forum for awhile and was pleased to see the section friends of dorothy! My partner and i have a 27ft airstream, and live 6 months of the year in it down south of santa cruz... our blog is Airstream Dreaming - living full time in an airstream trailer. Would love to meet other FOD's in the area!
