They have Wifi! The lakeside spots look nice and so does the whole park. I'm going to ask if we can hold 110-124. That way everyone will have a lakeside site or we can reserve the spots across from each other but I always like a water view.

Maybe we should spread out on the lakeside, so the other guests at the park can be jealous both of our Airstreams and of our campsites.

Just tell us when to call and reserve when we get a consensus on which weekend is best for the most people. At this point I'm guessing the 2nd weekend is the best for us (8-9-10 June 2012.)

Thanks...we will consider it... Greg's family from MI has been trying to get us back there and this might just help it all fall into place...we'll see! It would be an epic trip for us, and our longest/furthest ever. It would be great to meet you. We know Brad from afar, Mike&Frank and Krystal & Sammie in person, so we must meet the rest of you eventually, right?...

Yep it's time for that long trip! I'd love to meet my interior decorators in person! I'll be firming it up by December 1st. I like the lakeside spots as well so I'll ask them to hold 15, they were quick to respond and sound very nice! 15 or more Airstreams shimmering by the lake!

@TBRich: If you go to Hot Springs before MI (rather than after) you'd probably end up rolling within 2000 ft of our house. I wish we had courtesy parking to offer! We're an easy drive for the last leg to Hot Springs, 330 miles. Coffee Creek RV Resort in Santo, TX is about 50 miles to our west and a nice park, very popular with my WBCCI unit.

If they're coming from home, Frank&Mike and Lcurrie & beckyarreaga will hit I30 in Dallas just to the east of us.. we could have us a convoy!

We had the distinct pleasure of meeting Lcurrie and beckyarreaga for the first time at a Sonic in Atoka, OK and driving the rest of the way to Eureka Springs together.

Sounds like fun to go bigger next year!

We would go to Hot Springs prior to MI, and a caravan sounds fun...we've participated in a few of those with the 4CU folks...good times...gathering all that aluminum in a nice shiny string of Airstreams headed to good times...what fun! If we do make that kind of a trip we would be inclined to make it a grand tour and do it up right! Thanks for the tips!

Brad, Charles & I are looking forward to it but our calendar is getting tight aready, if a date is undecided our preference is for June 10-17 works best for us. Hope it works out, we missed out last year. John

Save the Date! Airstreams by the Lake Rally

Ok, it’s decided! We will have our Airstreams by the Lake Rally June 8th - 10th at Catherine’s Landing in Hot Springs Arkansas! I will post it on the calendar once I speak with Catherine’s Landing Monday but I will hold 15 lake sites at a discounted rate of $35 per night (if we have 10 trailers) and we have use of either the meeting room or pavilion at no extra charge. They have kyacks and possibly canoes for rent as well as a 10 person pontoon. Lots to do and see in the area and it looks like a great place for our second annual FOD rally! Below are a few links and pictures of the area; also is a link to You tube of last summer’s rally. I hope you can all make it and once it’s on the calendar please call Catherine’s landing ASAP to reserve your spot, if there is a lot of interest we can expand our hold on the sites to keep everyone together.

Airstreams by the Lake 2nd Annual FOD Rally Sign Up

Were all set! Please follow the link to the sign up page and PM me with your requested site #. All the sites are lakeside and they are HUGE so the will be fine for any sized rig. Here is the Map and they are holding 101-116. I'm putting Zell and I in the middle at site 110. So choose your site PM me with your choice and once I have enough names I will send in the info to Catherine's Landing and post here when its ok to call them with your payment info. I'm excited to see all of you in June! Of course I have a long wait but planning rallys gets me through the cold winter!

Signed up, first!

I didn't realize how new this park is. I'm a geek and one of my OCD issues is looking at satellite/aerial views of places we're going if I've never been. The satellite imagery on both Google Maps and Bing Maps just shows a tree-lined shore. I researched a bit and found a Woodall's article about Catherine's Landing being the "Hilton of RV Parks" and just opening in late spring 2011... sounds shiny and new, and very well-reviewed!

Just sitting here trying to figure out how I can do this. Right now, it's just not possible. Guess I'll have to wait for year 3. Thanks for posting the new dates though. Gives me something to dream about. Catherine's Landing looks AWESOME!
Thanks, Derek
