Humidity while storing

We just got our first Airstream and need to store it where we have no electricity down on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. I would like to know what others do down in the humid South to keep there trailers fresh between trips.

Dryer sheets are used by some for rodent and odor control ... not sure about the humidity that you might experience.

Dryer sheets do work well for rodents but we use Damprid. It's sold at Walmart and Home Depot had them on clearance. They work well at removing humidity.

We second blmitch5's use of Damprid. Two little buckets take care of the Silver Otter. Always smells and is fresh.

1st off - Congrats on the new 'Stream and Welcome to the forum!

Humidity in our neck of the woods is tough (as you know). Having no electric is a challenge but here is a suggestion.

Consider a solar system and a top-o-the-line fantastic vent. The vent can be set to open at a given temp, close if it's raining and the fan can be left 'off'. IMHO it won't help keep down the humidity but it will allow for some exchange of cooler air.

I did this with my 34' until I built a cover, the interior temps were over 115 degrees last summer.

I haven't spent any storage time in the deep south, but I have Maxx vent covers for my Fantastic Fans and I leave them open 24/7/365 while in storage. I have done this with my last trailer for a total of 19 years and have never had a mold or cooped up smell issue. I know your humidity is higher, longer down there, but with two vents open, enough air seems to move to be effective.
