2012 28' CCD Arrival!

Gestation period is over! Ordered my 28' CCD in mid-August, arrived at Out-of Doors-Mart in Kernersville, NC this morning. Just did the "first tour" of the new arrival. It is BEAUTIFUL! I visited JC in late Sep so I could see the build process, and now I have my own "custom-built". It'll get a final check-out at the dealers on 1 November, the 3P ProPride hitch will get installed on the 2d and I'll have it in its newly excavated backyard perch soon thereafter. My initial walk-through impression....and I was pretty critical....is that the folks at JC did a fantastic job at fit and finish. Will be doing some interior customization once it arrives home. VERY excited

Congratulations

We're still in the "new owners" stage of our 27FB Intl. looks as though you got the Signature edition from the pictures which is what we have also with the taupe interior.

Picked up ours about two weeks ago and after the initial of driving it home about 2,000 miles now trying to realize what we have!

"Silver Leaf" safely parked in its parking space behind the pool house. Two short overnights only leave me wanting a lot more! From the street, it's a good 100' backed down the driveway, through two 6 foot gates and up a 6 degree slope. I know this backing up will get easier, but it's sure tense at this stage!

Making Memories

"Silver Leaf" (I am a retired USA LtCol) made its first trip to visit son and grandchildren. First tow experience was awesome! ProPride 3P easy to hitch and unhitch, boon docked next to son's house. Hot hors d'ouvres and champagne to celebrate first overnight. YEA! Airstream rocks!

Hello and congrats on your new 28' AS. I am looking at a 27' and 30' Serenity. One question for you, is the wardrobe very big on your unit? And do you like the sink where it is postioned next to the couch? I'm just worried that if I splatter off the sink, I want to keep the couch clean. I've never seen a 28' in person only seen and been in the 27' and 30'. Any thougths would be greatly appreciated as we are getting close to ordering one. Cheers!!! Anna

Beautiful! We've got a 2005 with the same floor plan. Glad to see you got the awning package - it REALLY helps keep the AS cool in the sun. Best of luck - be sure to ask as many questions as you can think of here.

Hi annafallico, if you plan to spend a lot of time in it, I would definitely recommend the 30' floorplan (it's really 31'); if not, it really doesn't matter which one you get...they're all good.

I can tell you, however, that after having lived full-time for a couple of years in an "FB", followed by over a year with a 28', and now this one, that the FB's are the least comfortable (when spending considerable time in them), due to the seating arrangement.
