Hello Anna: I'm not sure what year's of crewing on yachts you did but I ran "mega yachts" a few. I was captain on "Royal Pacific", "Lady Sandals" and "Charade" (all DeVries yard yachts from Feadship). But that's only a few out of the 30 years I did operate yachts. You can google North West Passage motor yacht "Apoise" (a 220' Lursen and maybe the video is still there). I spent a long time working those kind of boats for some very difficult owners and only the last one "Apoise" was really worth the BS I had to put up with but by then maybe I'd developed enough experience and age to really appreciate how lucky (and educated) I was to deserve the opportunity to be given command of something so expensive with the responsibility to keep everything in order.
It's nice to hear from some one who has led the life that I have on this forum and I would bet we could share some stories.....what boat did you work on and for which Captain?....maybe we have some experiences in common?

I don't have an email sign up for the blog, but you can do an RSS reader if you like -- there's a lot of programs out now that'll keep all your blogs together for you so you can check on them. (I must get round to doing an RSS feed, but probably won't til I change the theme again.)

I used to write for a living, so the writing thing is kind of second nature at this point -- thanks for the compliment!

I'm moving into the Bambino! I've been sleeping there for the last few days even. Still trying to get everything hammered out, though -- working on internet access now, just got an Aeropress coffeemaker, waiting for another hose, Sewer Solution, etc. It'll be up on the blog once I get the whole Net access thing settled out!
