Ah, Terry you have your little bride. Murray likes to refer to Gemma as his "Child Bride".
About eighteen years ago we were on the north rim of the Grand Canyon attempting to obtain a hiking pass. The only one available was for a same day hike - miles down AND miles UP the SAME day. While we were contemplating how we were going to accomplish this feat of human strength and stamina while carrying forty pound backpacks a couple in their seventies yelled out, "We'll take it!". Show offs! Just goes to show you age is just a number.
Thank you for your kind words. Gemma will be sending the twenty bucks soon. Do you take PayPal?

December 30th
The day after we had dinner at the Tavern at Lark Creek we had dinner at Ducca. welcome to ducca [ home ]
We started with a cheese plate and moved on to the Italian chopped salad and lamb pappardelle. For entrees, Gemma had the flounder with brussel sprouts, baby turnips and parsnips and Murray had the filet with mushrooms, fingerling potatoes and sauteed spinach. Cheesecake and pear crostata, granished with candied orange peel, with a side of caramel sauce for dessert.

New Years Eve
We had arroz caldo, a chicken and rice soup made with ginger, garlic and scallions, traditionally served on New Year's Eve in the Philippines. And, yes, Gemma cooked.
Twelve grapes each at the stroke of midnight to ensure good luck.

Last night, pot roast, green beans, rice & gravy (steamed?......, you can't make me say , of course I can be bribed ), and applesauce. For dessert, home made choc. chip cookies. What a nice surprise to wake up to! (for the next week, it will be "breakfast" for me - whatever, I'll eat it).

New Year's Day
Hello Folks!
We haven't posted in a while but we have lots of images to share.
We last posted about our New Year's Eve dinner, arroz caldo, a chicken and rice soup traditionally served in the Philippines on New Year's Eve for good luck.
In an effort to ensure our good luck we had black eyed peas, ham hocks and collard greens on New Year's Day. Served over steamed rice, of course.

Last Night
Gemma cooked last night!
Korean short rib soup with cellophane noodles, served with chard sauteed with sesame oil and panch'an (small dishes of pickled and salted vegetables traditionally served with all meals in Korea). Murray made the daikon pickles (the small dish containing white radishes and hot little red peppers). The nappa cabbage kimchi and chile bamboo shoot pickles were store bought.
No rice!

OK, all sounds delish. We grow chard (Bright Lights - cuz I like the colors) in the garden, 'bout time to get out there and plant some......, right in front of the asparagus!

Love this thread. My two loves cooking and my Airstream. I have only been full timer for less than a week. Been cooking 40 years. Challenging and fun with no propane yet. First night was hot dogs grilled with pork n beans. My cooking equiptment consists of. Coleman camp stove, George Forman grill, Belgium waffle maker, toaster and micrwave. Sure could use a rice steamer and crock pot. So far some yummy steak dinners, tacos, made baked yukons in my foreman, they came out great. Lots of ham, waffles, eggs for breakfast. Grilled cheeses from the wwfflemaker. Yum. Been finding wild rosemary. Made awesome hollandaise with cracked pepper n rosemary for the steaks. Cant wait to hear whats for dinner tonight. Stay hungry my friends. Chef Kori

We like Bright Lights too! And would love to plant some asparagus in our garden.
Speaking of asparagus, we had some last night. Grilled with zucchini served with a miso dressing, some steaks, brats and some turkey. (We had dinner with Murray's cousin, Bev, and some friends.)

Chinese New Year
Yesterday we went to Gemma's brother's family's home in Alamo for dinner to celebrate Chinese New Year, but we started celebrating earlier in the day.
We had shrimp quenelle soup with cellophane noodles for lunch. (Round things are said to be good luck.)
We had take out for dinner. Chow mein, stir fried green beans, garlic chicken, honey walnut shrimp and spicy pork.
Cold Stone Creamery ice cream for dessert. Gemma had the sweet cream with pecans in the "Love It" cup. Evidence below.

Nothing Says "Romance" Like Take Out!
Yup more Chinese take out. For Valentine's Day. The honeymoon is still on!
We stayed in. Sick. So, for starters, we had hot and sour soup - so we could actually taste the rest of the meal; chicken chow mein (Hong Kong style: thin crispy noodles), sesame chicken and honey walnut shrimp. We made steamed rice and steamed asparagus at home.
