Awesome, you will love it! We just finished our upgrade a week ago, and it's been fantastic. Those guys at AM Solar really know their game. Tell Cody, Dustin, Roger, Karlie and the gang that we say, "Hi!"

Is that you, Mo-dean? (B-52's)

Hypervent Under Mattress

Just installed some Hypervent under the twin mattresses to create airflow underneath to prevent dampness beneath the beds. Especially useful in cold weather camping.

It came in a 39" wide roll and needed to be cut to fit. I cut it the width of the mattress because it overhangs the platform by a couple of inches.

We have installed the Hypervent under the beds in all of our trailers. One has to be careful making the bed as the edges of that stuff can really scratch or cut one's hands. But it does keep the mattress dry with no mildew on the supporting board when in damp climates or fall camping.

What Did You Get For Your Trailer Today?

We love hypervent. Scratchy, but works like a charm. We also put a layer of Reflectix directly on the platform, laid down an old flannel sheet, then Hypervent, then mattress.

Forgot to mention. We replaced our terrible queen mattress with a pair of Thermarest Mondo King 3D self-inflating camping pads. They are astonishingly comfortable, lightweight, and cost only 20% of what a Sleep Number bed would have cost us. We highly recommend these. One caveat: when you break camp, open the air valves on each mattress while in transit so they can breath as your altitude changes. When you get to your destination, add a little air for comfort, close the valves, and dream the night away.

Firedog, thanks for posting the link. I have thought about getting one myself. Do you happen to know how much lighter the Mighty Cord is compared to the Airstream cord?

We get our new sport 22fb at the end of June upgrading from our old falling apart tt. We just can't wait. After reading this thread and watching many an airsteam video on Youtube we bought quite a lot of stuff. We're downsizing in size so organizing and space is paramount.
-wifi backup camera off amazon
-3" lift kit from etrailer
-anderson levelers
-collapsible ladder
-proven industries hitchlock
-pelican cooler (since we were used to a bigger fridge/freezer on our old tt)
-camp chef denali 3 burner stove from costco (I do most of my cooking outside)
-grill box for the stove (our old tt had a bbq mount on it's side, we don't dare mount a bbq on our new AS)
-new bilstein shocks for my tv as well

A few days after we receive our AS we'll be off for a few weeks to try it out.

Had the time of my life pimping out the FaN after purchase.

I haven't purchased anything for a couple of years, voluntarily or otherwise, i.e. nothing is broken or damaged.

Matter of fact, I'm moving stuff out. I guess I've joined the "minimalism" set.

Me Too....re: minimalism in the Airstream!
Each year I remove stuff...cannot understand as to why I carry so many non perishable grocery items, 5 table cloths, too many extra linens, etc. Always striving towards more minimal living on the road and at home.
Cheers!

EcoSeb Dehumidifier

I installed the EcoSeb Classic Desiccant Dehumidifier about a week ago. It has made the trailer much more comfortable in the damp spring here in Ontario. I think it will be useful in the humid summer months too as the air conditioner doesn't do a good job of dehumidification.

Some times I have to empty the unit twice a day. It can easily be moved from the front to the bedroom, depending on where there is the most humidity - I like to keep the trailer in the mid 40s % RH.

It is small (Width 11.4 x Height 18.7 x Depth 6.9 inch) and very quiet in normal operation, but on maximum setting it is a somewhat louder, but not unpleasant or as loud as a compressor type dehumidifier.

OK this is kinda old. But I use 2x6 lumber. I carry a couple of 4 ft sections and several 1 ft sections. I can stack them, make ramps and/or chocks with the pieces. They are also good for kindling when the fire wood they sell at the parks is wet or too big. I don't need a lumber yard to replenish or custom make them. I always seem to have 2x6 lumber around.

Nice. Always a real quest to find something that appeals to you and fits the resting place for art..

Indeed... not much room for art in the AS but the White Buffalo is now securely riveted to the inside of the screen door.

Replacement 12V 10 watt light bulb for the Dometic fridge. Turns out it’s an automotive bulb, easily available at the local auto parts store.
