Coolest airstream ever...

We just returned from a vacation in Florida (sorry fellow enthusiasts, but we flew) where we were able to watch the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis last Thursday at Kennedy Space Center.

They allowed a few bus tours early on the day of the launch and as we were returning to the visitor complex on our bus, we were stopped in the middle of the road because the astronauts were approaching in their vehicle. There were guard vehicles ahead and behind the astronauts and helicopters above. And guess what they were riding in???

We went camping at High Falls State Park in GA. We arrived after dark on Friday night but did see an older AS camping there. It left by the time we got up in the morning.

We drove through Indian Springs State Park, GA Sunday afternoon and saw an Excella (32/34')? in the campground there. There was an AS (international?) parked across from the state park. Somewhere before we got to the interstate there was another AS parked next to someone's house.

On the drive home we saw a newer AS on the overpass just south of I-285 as we were heading N toward Atlanta. An AS MoHo was going North on I-75, just north of to top end perimeter of Atlanta I-285, this afternoon as we were heading south. We didn't get a good look at it so see if it was a 345 or not but could have been.

Atlanta Airstream Traffic Report

Since we seem to be talking about Atlanta sightings, I just saw a beautiful sight driving through the Perimter/Chamblee area. Right off of Johnson Ferry near the interesection with Ashford Dunwoody there is an Airstream Classic Motor Home sitting in the back yard of a house. It looks like it is in great shape. I will have to hunt down more details when it is not pouring rain outside.

Airstream sighting near Downs, IL

Saw what may have been an Excella with #2106 heading east on Interstate 74 near Exit 140 and Downs, IL. It was heading towards Champaign/Urbana. Tow vehicle was a Chevy. This was about 1:00 p.m. on 2/20/2008. Today was a cold blustery day with highs in the mid teens.

Squarestream

I did a double take this afternoon when I saw a Squarestream heading north on I-79,south of Meadville ,Penna which is in the Northwest corner of the State. He was coming out of a snow squall at about 3PM.Tow vehicle appeared to be an older Ford F250 4x4.That is the first one I have seen on the road.

on my way driving back from Ft Leonardwood yesterday I saw one just parked in front of a rv park sign. Just sitting there looking out at the road waiting for someone to hook her up and take her for a drive. Its a sad day when one that good looking is used for an advertisement and not for camping.

This trailer has been sitting here for years. Looks to be a 70s model, and looks like it would need a good amount of work...but hey, even the good looking ones need work don't they.

Now I realy would like to have had that 5th wheel info. We only have info on ONE 5th wheel in the registry.
You all keep your eyes open for the squarestream,we need VIN number and month, day and year made of the VIN data plate on street side, forward end ,just above floor line.Would also like info on owner if you can get that.

The explanation is simple!

Orange tanks = C3H8

Blue tanks = CH3CH2CH2CH3

Getting them mixed up means everything gets mixed up!

I could buy smaller ones to go in the storage box but they work out at $ 2/lb for the C3H8, whereas the bigger tanks cost only $1/lb for the C3H8!

No, not exactly, I first bought tanks that would fit under the covers. Which is how I know about the $2/lb. So, the empty tanks are under the covers - no C3H8 or, for that matter, CH3CH2CH2CH3!
