As I was heading north on US 23 today at about 12:47 pm I saw a 34 footer heading south at Mile Marker 7 in Michigan. It was being towed by a very late model Chevy pickup Fawn in color...

I saw a beautiful little '60's polished Bambi traveling west on the 101 Frwy San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles yesterday. I didn't notice what was towing it as we were both traveling fast in opposite directions. It sure was sweet. Kenny

Saw the movie at it's Minneapolis opening tonight. I can say with 95% certainty it is a 1959 Sovereign Of The Road.

A most enjoyable movie, "My Name Is Bruce", and we had a nice Q&A afterwards with the producer/director/star. He's a really down to earth guy, and very funny.

This old darling was seen by me during a visit in October of 2007 at a farm that is quite local to me, called The Round-the-Bend Farm (it sits on a curve in the road that has since been removed). It's maybe a ten minute drive from our house here in Aurora, Ontario.

Took the picture just before I was bitten by the AS bug, or maybe it was this old lady that did the biting. In any event, I only just came across it as I was backing up my images on the computer.

If you look closely, you'll see that the rear roof has been gone over very carefully with maybe a large log. I'm thinking it's is in it's final home. You can see that it has a rather permanent-looking water connection on the side, coming up from the ground. Even harder to see is the waste outlet pipe going into what looks like a cistern or holding tank under the rear bumper.

Someone was living in it, I'm willing to bet. They have a couple of windows cracked open...

That was cabbage in the field to the left of it, IIRC.

airstream sightings

Friday's trip to Platteville, Wisconsin resulted in the sighting of two Airstreams. The first was only about six miles East of my home -- a 1970s era Overlander or Ambassador that likely belongs to hunters -- the coach was parked about two miles East of the Lick Creek School between Anna, IL and Lick Creek, IL. The second was someone likely fleeing the winter weather -- a late 1980s 34' foot tri-axle about three miles West of the I-74/I-474 Interchange at Peoria, IL.

Will working on the house at Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma, I saw a beautiful polished Airstream in the Love's gas station. I talked to the grandson of the owners of this AS and he thought it was a 50's something, but didn't know anything more than his grandpa had restored it. Certainly attracted attention and I spoke to the guy at the pump next to me when he told his buddy " I think the new ones still look just like that". He was amazed that one was no where near "new" .

and on an unrelated (or possibly related, i'm not sure, its late and i'm tired) note, the KOA website now features an Airstream!

There were four Airstreams in the Huntington Beach State Park (just south of Myrtle Beach) S.C. last week. Another one was checking into Ocean Lakes as we drove by.

Suddenly my daughter screams, "MOMMY!!!!!" which of course means I have to slam on the brakes and look into the back seat because she's about to die, but no, she's pointing back over me at my side of the street with her mouth in a big "O" shape. My 13 y.o. and I look over and see the picture in the attached link and quietly go, "whoooooa".

Batter Blaster Airstream on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I'm sure i'm not the first to see it but Airstreams in my town are pretty rare and I had just read an article about this guy starting his own business with some squirtable pancake batter stuff. His tow vehicle was decorated too.

It's a headturner for sure, but I'm always a little sad to see aluminum painted over with anything. Still, quite screamworthy.

And I just have to say how proud I am of this thread, especially since I have yet to finish our trailer!
hahaha... I built this. here's the blog link. AEG Airstream

i never took photo's of it being complete.... my camera died. but this is 3 weeks before the deadline.

Sorry I should have spelled it out. Contrary to popular belief we do have great summers around here but SM= Small Mouth as in,Buffalo Rising | Prestigious Fishing Series Makes a Splash in Buffalo
Two seasons ago I got a 5 1/2 pounder myself while drowning some worms. Come on, see for yourself!

Wow, That's impressive. I bet it was a hell of a fight. People under estimate SM.
I haven't been east of Montana. But I love bass fishing. I grew up fishing lake washington, lake sammamish, and the potholes reservoir for SM. All in Washington state.
These past few years I've been fishing for steelhead religiously...this has pretty much taken all of my bass time... I miss it a lot... We always used grubs and sinko's. Always fishing the shore... bumpin' them off of rocks.

My brother Chris travels the world and makes flyfishing movies. He is also the founder of the fly fishing film tour. He asked me to make him a trailer for his film tour... and one of his partners saw this and gave the trailer over to company that he helps advertise for..... batter blaster for their tour across the USA. But... the 2009 FFFT should have the trailer. Finally... If you like to fish you should go check it out.
