rolling cupboards

does anyone know how to fix the rolling cupboards from coming apart the cabinets under the sink the are coming apart in sections when you roll them open.....

Not sure what you are talking about. Photos would help.

If you are referring to the galley sink cabinet. The plywood sides and shelves fit into extruded aluminum channels and are held in place with blind (pop) rivets. Sometimes the plywood rips out the rivet hole. Drill new holes and re-rivet. You could also use some "L" brackets to attach the shelves to the sides and the sides to the interior skin.

thanks everyone it is the rolling doors they come apart in strips...they dont roll open very well without coming apart

Tambour doors for sure. They are honery critters. They can be repaired or replaced. You should be able to find a bunch of info on the forums if you do a search. A lot of people have replaced them with solid panels. The ones under the sink are particularly pesky.

hey, tinlizzie69. We bought a '71 Overlander last year and, yes, as yours,the tambour doors under the sink area were falling apart. I pulled them out last summer (carefully, 'cause I thought I could maybe rebuild them). Lots of info on the forum about them. I think I would buy the new, if I were going to keep it original. At this point, I have spring-tension rods and fabric "drapes" for my doors. We've traveled NV to AK and haven't had a problem with stuff falling out of the shelves. I think I'll just keep them that way. Easy to access, for sure.

I had to replace all of the tambour doors in my '72 Sovereign. It's not hard to do at all. I ordered unstained replacement tambour off the net. Just cut them to size using the old one's as templates and stain them. My interior is walnut and I used a walnut stain. They match perfectly. See my blog for pics and details.
