Resealing Window Eyebrows with Zip Dees in Place?

Is there a way to lock the Zip Dee awnings in the rolled out position? I need to reseal the window eyebrows and there isn't enough room to work with the awnings rolled out or in. What I would like to do is lock the roller tube on the out position, unfasten the arms at their lower mounts and tie up the the whole shootin' match above the window.

Has anybody found a good way to do this, short of removing the whole awning(s)?

I just did this caulking project on my trailer. There was approximately 2 or 3 inches of space between the brow and the small awnings. I dug out the old caulk, cleaned and prepped, used blue painters tape to outline the area to caulk and placed caulk the best I could. I gained a little space by raising the awning with my head while standing on the ladder. Dip your finger in mineral spirits and work the caulk into the joint. The mineral spirits will give it a smooth finish. Wipe off and excess and pull the tape. Leave the awning open for a few days until the caulk cures.

OK, Crispy..I just finished all the streetside windows by your method. What a pain in the neck....LITERALLY!

I am going to have to give some thought to some kind of tool to hold the awning roller in the rolled out position before next time.
