As posted, Inverter (when turned
on) converts your
12V DC battery power to AC so you can run some small appliances. It's typically used when your
not connected to shore power. You don't need to have the Inverter
on when hooked up to your shore power; your Converter handles all the electrical needs.
That being said, the Inverter also can drain your battery if you run say a coffee pot, blender, hairdryer for lengthy periods of time, so be aware.
