Hi, I can only say that if the 3M double tape is white, thick, and foam, don't use it. You need the 3M double sided tape that is thin, and a dark gray color.

We (AM SOLAR) use 3M VHB (very high bond) tape for mounting panels when they go on a smooth metal or fiberglass surface.

There are other important considerations when using this type of mounting system.

I have 4 panels on the roof of my service van that are mounted this way and they have been there for 4 years........... no problems.

PM me if you need to know more.

And the ones Lew "stuck" on the roof of my trailer are still there ... it's only been a few months, but after about 3,000 miles, they still seem stuck tight!

p.s. Lew - I like your new machine ... even if it's another brand! ... do you tow the service van behind it, or the other way around? !!

Very Funny!!!!!

Actually, one if the main reasons I got the beast is to tow the Sprinter behind it. This will allow me to carry all of my service equipment with me and should make my life easier..... (that is after I finish restoring the coach!!!)
