Caution when ordering LED replacements
I can't find the thread where this link was originally posted.
36-LED SMD Warm White Interior Room Dome Door Car Light | eBay
I ordered 26 lights form them and they were delivered without problem, unfortunately while it looks like and 1156 (BA15s) base in the picture, it is really a BA9s base and won't work. I have been unsuccessful finding an adapter to make them work, so will have to return them to China.
I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone looking at this site. If you have another style base, you may be OK.

I ordered my LED lights from Dan at led4rv.com - Dan used to be a repair tech at an Airstream dealer, so he knows some of the "peculiarities" of Airstreams.

I was being cheap and it will end up costing me $36 to send the LED's back to China for my refund.
Lesson learned

At this point you are $36.00 ahead and have some lights. Consider hard wiring them in.

Ditto, got all mine from Dan. About 10 months later a specific type of bulb, of which I had three, started to fail the individual LEDs. Dan readily acknowledged difficulty with that supplier and he subsequently changed suppliers. Three new bulbs arrived a few days later. Sometimes ya gets what ya pays for......and he's really not that high anyway.

I'd have to say that my experience with LED's hasn't been great.
I like the concept and even though we don't spend much time without hookups, like the low power consumption for those times we are on batteries ( we have a Honda gennie now so that isn't too much of a consideration now anyway.)
I installed them in the reading lights at the front and rear of our trailer, but truth to tell, they are not really as bright as I would like. I still have them in place, but am considering putting the halogens back in. I am sure I will if/when any of the LED's fail in service.
I bought them also for the chandelier type fixture over our dining table. Initially the supplier (a US supplier of AS parts) sent me the wrong ones, cool white instead of warm white. It was a bit of a hassle exchanging them as we are in Canada.
When I installed them, they lasted maybe a day and all teh individual LED's started falling off!
I probably should have sent them back yet again, but I was so fed up I just wrote it off and put the automotive bulbs back in!
Initially I had planned on also replacing the fluorescents with LED's but they are darned expensive and we rarely use those lights anyway (I have a thing about ceiling lights -don't like them!) so I won't be doing that after all!
On the plus side, I built a tiny luggage trailer to pull behind our motorcycle on longer trips and have had good luck with LED lights.
I have found in the past that I often have troubles with regular trailer light bulbs (clearance lights stop/turn lights) from burned out bulbs and often corrosion in the sockets.
So when building this trailer, I used LED tail lights that are submersible, intended for boat trailers.
There are no sockets, the LED's are "Potted" in epoxy modules. As well, I soldered and shrink-tubed all the connections - nary a problem in about 5 years use. They draw little current from my motorcycle electrical system and are very bright.

I paid the high prices getting mine directly from Airstream online but they work great.

LED's
Dan at LED4RV was terrific. He helped me choose the correct replacements for my 2008 Safari 27FB. He fixed the one problem I had quickly and with no hassles. I'm happy with his products and outstanding service.

My experience with LED’s in my Airstream is similar to “Wingeezer”, i.e., disappointment. I ordered LED replacements for my puck lights over the front sofa directly from Airstream. They installed nicely, after removing the halogen reflector (which I luckily saved). I converted one to LED, and left the other as halogen for comparison. The color temperature of the two is quite different, as the halogen produces a much “warmer” (yellow) light that looks better in my “classic”, while the LED is a higher temperature light (bluer) that may look better in some of the newer models with aluminum interiors. The quantity of light (lumens) is also greater in the halogen. I intend to convert mine back to halogen. I’d really like more light along the sofa, so alternatively, I thought I might replace the pucks over the beds, move them to up front so that I would have 4 matching lights over the sofa, all halogen.

The few trips that we boondocked this year I knew that I wanted to switch all my interior lights to leds, not only to save on battery power but I really like the look. I'm now working on all the outside lights. Here are the links where I purchased all the leds.

We have a new FC with the LED interior lights, and the aluminum skin interior. I find the LEDs to be way too white hot. I'd guess they are above 6000K. It gives off an eerie electronic look inside that I don't enjoy. Neither does wife.
We have an small table lamp we use with a 3500K bulb and it gives a nice warm yellow tone that goes nice with the yellow leather. I don't know much about these LEDs yet, but I am going to see if they make some in much lower temperature range like our 3500K lamp. We have about 12 of these things in the roof!
Also, some form of "filter" that could be applied over the fixture might work to warm them up.

The LEDS that I got are called WARM LITE which are real close to the inc bulbs I replaced. So look for warm lite not bright white. I felt like I was in an office Bldg with the other ones.

Count us in as ones who HATE the new blue look of the LED lights. Our new AS has them and it gives out a really blue, cold glow at night. Right now we light ours with a table lamp and the lamp from the stove hood. We don't turn on overhead lights unless really needed. We were also wondering about some sort of lens cover to warm the lights up. Think we're just going to give in and order the warm lightbulbs. It's going to cost a small fortune though....grr...

You're welcome, I remember thinking at the time that it was a cool idea. Cool enough that I bookmarked it!

My problem wasn't the color, but the plug on the end of the bulb. Nit was a mini fitting and not the full size 1141. It also included plugs for halogen type bulb, but it wouldn't work in my application. To date, I have returned them to China, but the sell has not "received" them in order to give me a refund.
