To all who are following this thread it is buyer beware here as well. There are a zillion companies selling LED lights and strips for the fluorescent and if you ask a bunch of questions you get " oh yes, oh yes, I have best LED at Best price" but when you get it is does not work how you hoped it would. Then sending them back is hard, hard to get your money back and takes along time. All of which they try to sell you another LED which is "best LED at Best price". You get the picture.
Another note about fluorescent tubes is if you leave the Ballast in line you will get very little power savings. If you get the right product in strip form you will get a power savings of half. 12 volt fluorescent lights use twice the power. If the ballast fails while in-line your LEDs will not work in some situations.

I do thank you all for the wonderful comments and also thank you for writing or calling to find out what works best before you buy. It always works best if you get what your needing the first time around.

I'm with redwoodguy in that we find the LED's in our 2011 30' FC to be a bit too "white". I understand that the 2012's come with a light dimmer. I inquired of my dealer about a retrofit with no success.

Just as an update, my return still hasn't made it back through Chinese customs I am told......Lost in shipping. I have always lived by the axiom that you get what you pay for, and I ordered cheap ones as an experiment. I just didn't take into account that I would end up without anything to experiment with.....my $$ learning experience, and I post it here to hopefully help others.

After Christmas and the other holidays I think I will just place and order with Dan.

Started to convert interior of '89 to led strip lights on dimmers and/or switches. Old rv double bulb(1141) fixtures were overheating and melting covers. Very happy with color(warm white) and the dimmers work great. Hardest part was finding plugs for holes(1 1/8") left behind when I removed old lights. I am planing on strip lights over sink, in bath and over sofa.
I want to light the exterior under the awning. Does anyonyone know if yellow light repells bugs? especially mosquitos. Thought about removing small vinyl insert in this area and replacing with yellow waterproof led strip light on a dimmer.

When I was a kid growing up on the farm, we always had a yellow light outside the door to the house. I don't know if it really worked. I do know for mosquito's it isn't the light color, but CO2 that attracts them.

Got the LED tail light kit from Dan and installation was a breeze. All I did was glue (goop) the lens to the spacer to make a gasket and install. They look and work great and worth the $$$

Well, I did get a refund after all. It just took six weeks for the return to make it through Chinese customs. Now it is time for a trip to Dan's website and some LED shopping!

Replaced oem LEDs

We do a lot of camping in locations without hookups, kinda "soft boondocking." Our 2011 27 FC came with day light, blue, LEDs in the ceiling. They really looked cool at the RV show, but they were way too intense and way too cold for our use. I fabricated some semi-opaque diffusers: they cut the glare, but didn't change the color temp. I ordered a few warm pucks from Airstream; the color was warmer, but a bit to greenish and unnatural. The pucks were basically exposed circuit boards, really a poor substitute for the better built oem LEDs. Also, the two pin connectors, while fitting the female receptacles in the ceiling, were VERY fragile, not designed to take any stress at all. I lost two pins within a week of installing them. Fed up, I ended swapping them all out for 10W halogens. We now have the lighting we want, and a 2kw Yamaha recharges the batteries the next morning in an hour or so if needed.

Just upgraded my batteries from 24s to 27s. The whole "random walk" wasn't cheap, but then neither was the Airstream. Stay tuned ...

Doesn't AS sell a plug-in replacement that is warm white and is in the same round frame? I don't recall seeing a bare PCB option.

Glad you got it solved though.
