Thetford one pedal no water blues

Is anyone else having trouble getting the bowl on their Thetford one pedal toilets to fill with water.
If I push the pedal hard enough to get any significant water flow it opens the slide and the water runs out.
Is there a fix or do I have to carry the one gallon jug of water around that I use to fill the bowl?
Even the top of the line Thetford china bowl toilets are one pedal. Not a better idea in my opinion.

Have you tried lifting UP on the pedal? That's how my Sealand works.

I think you might come to appreciate the design. Sometimes you don't want the bowl to fill with water. For instance, if you are going to be traveling and
don't want water splashing around, or if you are boondocking where water conservation can prolong your stay.
............there are some other issues but.......EEWWWWW

There must be something wrong with your valve mechanism. I just replaced a 2 pedal with a new 1 pedal Bravura. It works just ducky!!!

Mine acts the same way, filling with maybe a half-inch or inch of water, but I don't think it needs more than that to make a seal. For flushing purposes I just hold down the pedal as long as necessary.

Unlike Sealand toilets, new model Thetfords don't fill with water when you hold the pedal up.
Has anyone had any luck adjusting a one pedal Thetford to fill properly?

Hi all -

Have the 1 peddle Thetford herein described. I DO NOT however have a handy little sprayer on the hose to 'clensify' after ... Is this common with the 1 peddle models?? Is there a fix to add a sprayer - or do I even need one?

I just purchased mine about a month ago. It DID come with the sprayer hose. I think I see what you folks are talking about, now. Mine fills up to a certain point, which is enough to "do the job", but no further. I did like the dual pedals for dumping the tank. I could fill the bowl to the point of overflowing, then dump it. I felt this method helped clean the tank and pipes better. Now I have to hold the single pedal all the way down and just let the water run in. I don't see any way of adjusting the pedals on mine.
