Singing the praises of Zip Dee

For those frequenting the Air Forum threads relative to Zip Dee POWER awnings you have no doubt read about some of the trials and tribulations of those of us with these awnings.

Well alas, this is not a tail of woe, but rather to sing the praises of the folks at Zip Dee.

Last week while camping in the Anza Borrego area of Southern California, and being hotter than blazes, we deployed our power awning, one we had a number of problems with in our first year of ownership. As the awning opened I noticed something a bit different in the way it sounded, one end seemed to open, then stop while the other end "caught up". Concerned given our previous experience, we contacted Zip Dee to assess the potential issue- one might call us gun shy. Speaking with a fellow named Nathan, who by the way was stellar in his concern and sympathetic to our past experience after explaining our previous problems, he assured us that what we were hearing was perfectly normal and confirmed that the mother-board/brain/computer was working perfectly and as designed.

After a little more discussion Nathan asked about the date the original mother-board (the one causing the aforementioned problems)was replaced and directed me to look at the sticker on the unit. Given the date I supplied him, Nathan proceeded to say they had made more improvements to the system since that time, and despite the fact we were not encountering any problem, committed to sending us the new and improved version at no charge and freight paid, only asking for the old unit back.

So often on our forum we read about bad experiences, this is a good one that I thought I'd share---one of "REAL" customer service. Kudos to Zip Zee!
