Last weekend, I finally made a trip back to our unit..A time lap of 4 months had passed since I saw it last...I was real curious as to how the polishing job held up. The word on the wax is..Not that good. From a distance the unit looks great~! But, up close, you can see the water marks, etc..Looks like I'll need to re-polish it once more..Granted now, this'll be a low level polishing effort.
I'll need to do some further research as to what to use in the future..Anyone out there had any long term results to report on?
BTW, THINK SPRING~!~GET THE CYCLO OUT~!

I've been polishing with the compounder and Nuvite for the last few weekends. Just have a small area around the door and then from the top of the windows up. Seems my pads have worn out because they don't work like they used to. I'll get some new ones before I pick it up again this weekend.

If 5 years is a long time, I can tell you my experience - of course have to consider that I live in a dry climate and store my trailer inside.

Those water streaks you are seeing are not big deal - when you re-wax they should come right off.

I use Rollite sealer, so I don't know about anything else - I've used it for the 5 years and I think it works great.

What I do is each spring I re-seal with the sealer, each fall I do a once over with Nuvite S and re-seal - keeps it looking good.

Punch my photos and you can see what it looks like.

Since we only had but a few days to be there..I didn't even try to wipe it..I have every reason to believe it will clean up just fine..I like your pictures and, the sound of your annual treatment..

One thing to remember, not all pads are equal..I bought a few extras last fall(to have on hand while the others were drying out) and, to be honest with you...It was a huge waste of money
Maybe, I'll save them for waxing the car finis?...lol
(wished we could get this thread to "stick" since Spring Polishing Time will be upon us shortly)

Dumb question, maybe. I waxed in the fall to protect the polishing I had been doing. Once the warm weather hits - how do I remove the wax to continue polishing? Will it polish off, I wonder?

I made your curbside photo into my desktop background, but it stretched the vertical axis so much that it looks like a tall Bambi with oval tires.
Could you post that picture, uncropped, on your photo album? If I look at it everday on my desktop it will give me incentive to polish mine.

I first tried Rolite with the Cyclo, did an OK job but was a lot of work. Felt there must be something better, my arms were going to fall off if I kept this up. I then heard of this Southern Shine stuff from you know who on this list. He was in the neighborhood and offered to demo it on my trailer. What did I have to lose? That stuff worked better but he was using a Harbor Freight compounder and man was that stuff messy. Thought I would give Nuvite a try. Couldn't stop now, part of my trailer was shiney. Bought the sample pack from AirstreamDreams and used it with the compounder. Did the whole end cap and most of the streetside with the sample jar. Ordered the large tub and have only used less than half of it. Still need to do the roof and then get the swirls out with the Cyclo but feel the worst of it is over. Beautiful day today, in the upper 80s.

I don't know your trailer just doesn't have that mirror shine, perhaps I should take it off your hands so you won't be embarrassed to have it sitting around.

It really looks great!!!!!!!!! I hope mine polishes up as nice. Your photos will give me the incentive to get out there as soon as the temps warm up more.

Question? As long as temps are in the 50's I guess it would be ok to start polishing wouldn't it? I would image that it's no different than polishing a car (except a lot harder) just shouldn't be done in direct sun light. Or am I completely clueless. I've never polished aluminum before.

Really looks good.

Thanks Whistler. As far as polishing, I've heard that you shouldn't polish below 60 degrees. I think the polish is too thick. You can polish in the sun if its say under 75 degrees. If above that, the skin gets too hot and the polish just dries on before you have a chance to get at it. Looks like you have a 15 degree window. Good luck and post some pictures.

Actually if that's the recommended temp range, up here in NE PA that will give me a good 2- 3 months to get it done. Doesn't get much above 75 until into July. Since it's only a 17'er hope to have it done before then. Thanks

Hi all you polishers,
I've been back at it and am just about done. Still some to do on the top. The Nuvite isn't working as well up here as it was on the sides of the trailer. I tried the SS that I had left and that stuff worked great. Now I need another bottle or two.
